🌊 Great news! This #WorldOceansDay, we're thrilled to announce a new intensive research collaboration with @WURmarine.
We will work to improve the management of fish stocks, and the development of an ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management 👉 bit.ly/4e8Wmy7

Storm Isha passed by and it was most certainly windy! With such conditions, the vessels I work with seek a quiet spot as well and wait patiently for the weather to improve and start fishing again. See the vessels hiding behind the land masses along the UK and Ireland coast.

This time no Lina at Sea, but Lina on Stage:
PFA Fisheries researcher @Linadenijs gave a presentation about the collaboration between fishers and science during the @ICES_ASC Annual Science Conference.
Our Fishers Support Science because they are our eyes and ears at sea.

This week @PFA_eu we tested if we could mount a live-feed camera on a towed body. This allows the skipper to look underwater and checkout fish species before fishing, improving selective fishing. @Linadenijs in action!

And we are underway! Lina @linadenijs @PFA_eu and colleagues from @WURmarine and VLIZ join efforts to sample the pelagic fish community around wind farms for the APELAFICO research project. Science-industry collaboration as I like to see it!

And Lina is off again! This time she will focus on the fecundity of female horse mackerel. The gathered data will be used to support the scientific international triennial (horse) mackerel egg survey.
A great continuation of our valuable research collaboration with @WURmarine
