PS: There are more cells than just 2-cells. In fact, you can even have “infinity categories.” Here’s a lecture explaining this concept with Emily Riehl. (23/22) youtu.be/mTwvecBthpQ

Watch @symbolica Principle Scientist Dr. Paul Lessard talk about why category theory is the key to achieving a description of symbolic reasoning in machines and how we are using it to usher in a new era in machine learning.
We just dropped our conversation with Dr. Paul Lessard from @symbolica - Paul and his collaborators have written a paper on "Categorical Deep Learning and Algebraic Theory of Architectures". They aim to make neural networks more interpretable, composable and amenable to formal reasoning. The key is mathematical abstraction, as exemplified by category theory - using monads to develop a more principled, algebraic approach to structuring neural networks.

It was a joy catching up with you Lex, you're one of my favorite inquisitive people because of your depth of knowledge in AI, programming, and willingness to really explore complex topics. 🔥+❤️=❤️‍🔥
Here's my conversation with Chris Lattner (@clattner_llvm), a legendary engineer, his 3rd time on the podcast. We talk about Modular AI and Mojo, a new programming language that is a superset of Python and can achieve 35,000x+ speed ups over Python. youtube.com/watch?v=pdJQ8iVT…

Curious about string diagrams and wondering where to start? Fabio Zanasi and I wrote an introduction designed to onboard CS students into our own research and offer a glimpse into current research on the topic. arxiv.org/abs/2305.08768 This is a first draft--feedback welcome!
