In the bull market of 2017, I made really huge returns on my crypto investments but I made one common mistake. I did not sell. I saw my investments go all the way up and then all the way down. So many people fall in this trap. So I studied what the best investors and fund managers do. And that's having an investing strategy. In the months leading up to the bull market of 2021, I rectified my mistake and created a crypto investing strategy. Today, I share the exact steps you should take to create your own crypto investing strategy [and win in the next bull market] 💰 If this is your first bear market, this thread is a must read! First things first, you don’t want to do this exercise in your head. I want you to physically write your goals down, so that you are able to execute when things get tough. So write this up. There are 7 parts of a winning crypto investing strategy. Let’s look at each of them. #1: Goals Why are you investing in crypto? Maybe you are investing to buy a house, or want financial freedom or get the money for your kids education. Whatever it is, write down this phrase in your diary: ‘My goal is to exit with $X (insert amount here) into my bank account after taxes.’ Make sure to keep these targets realistic. #2: Risk If you are over-leveraged, you risk losing your investments. If you are under-leveraged, you will not reach your financial goals. #3: Timelines Here, define how long will it take to achieve these goals. I plan on achieving my investing goals in the next 2-3 years, which is before the end of the next bull market. I would also advise you to create your crypto investing strategy for the next 2-3 years, and exit in the next bull market. #4: Assets. This is the one of the most important part of your strategy. You want to put down the names of the assets you are investing in. Make sure to do thorough research on the assets you choose and once you are in, have faith and conviction in them. For each asset, you want to write down a conservative top that it could hit in the next bull market. Do this for all your assets. #5: Sell Strategy After you have written down price points for your assets, you want to write down your targets for selling. You want to slowly dollar cost average out of your investments on the price targets you have set. For example, I will sell 50% of my ETH holdings when it hits $5k, and after each 20% increase in price, I will sell a percentage of my ETH. So when ETH price hits $6k, I sell 10% of my remaining ETH bag. When ETH price hits $7200, I sell 20% of my remaining ETH bag. When ETH price hits $8640, I sell 30% of my remaining ETH bag and so on. Your sell targets should match the goals that you have defined at the start of this strategy. Do this exercise for all the assets in your crypto/NFT portfolio. #6: Automation Once you have sold your assets and have the money in your Ledger, you want a clear path to get that money to your bank. You need a plan to get out of the game at the right time. This is where your automation strategy comes in. So my automation strategy is to take my assets from Ledger to Uniswap, and then sell it for an ETH pair. And that goes straight into my bank account as fiat. You would think this is so obvious, but when it is time to execute, you want to know exactly what you're doing. #7: Psychology Last component is how you want to play the game. My psychology is long-term investing. I do not day-trade, I do not stake my crypto, I have been accumulating BTC for 5 years now, and I am not concerned if it goes to 25k or 20k tomorrow. For you it could be a mix of short term investing and long term investing or only short term investing. Whatever it is, get it on paper. Having a crypto investing strategy is the biggest difference between winning and losing in crypto imo. Without a strategy, you are just relying on luck. Hope that helps.
