They work for us!
Thank you to Mr. Perez at @CA_PesticideReg for confirming a state review of 7 Ladera Ranch pesticide investigations.
The questions now: will CDPR also review its own role in 2019? and will our elected find out what went wrong and fix it? @SupervisorFoley @GavinNewsom @EPA @EpochTimes @DianeDixonAD72

Governor Newsom appointed Val Dolcini to run California’s Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) in 2019.
Dolcini left DPR in 2021 and went to Syngenta.
Syngenta was bought by ChemChina for $43 billion. It’s now under Sinochem Holdings — a Chinese state-owned chemical giant.
The man Newsom put in charge of the state’s pesticide regulating agency walked out the door and onto the payroll of a Chinese-owned pesticide company.
DPR is about 97% funded by the industry it regulates. That’s not independent oversight. That’s CAPTURE!
In Ladera Ranch, 2019 complaints were closed with “no violations” and no site visits. DPR was supposed to be the last line of defense. Newsom chose who ran it. He appointed him. He left the funding model in place.
Own it. Fix it. And STOP collecting our money to protect the financial interests of foreign companies at the expense of our health.

Californians, imagine allowing a company owned by the Chinese government to fund our pesticide regulating agenices.
@GavinNewsom this is egregious!

The picture below of O'Connell Landscape and LARMAC spraying chemicals while children are present is from 7 years ago.
FIFRA is not a suggestion.
Using a pesticide in a manner inconsistent with its labeling is illegal.
In 2019 the Finale / Lifeline glufosinate label listed driveways, paths, and parking areas. It did NOT list sidewalks.
For years, O’Connell sprayed sidewalks in Ladera Ranch while children and parents walked their kids to school, documented facts not hearsay. That is off-label use.
Orange County’s own monitoring report on O’Connell (104-30-17-M00Q-022) is not a clean bill of health. It documents a licensed applicator running a backpack spray of Lifeline (Bayer 432-1229-ZA) in a public landscape, in variable wind, and failing required label and safety items on the county checklist.
Regulators/Orange County Agriculture Department still treated the company’s paperwork as proof of compliance. The use sites were written on the label. O'Connell Landscape applied it where the label did not authorize. The county turned a blind eye.
Protecting children from toxic chemicals is not hard! Informing the community is not hard! Ladera Ranch and O'Connell Landscape failed at both for at least a decade. Why are the vendors involved still given contracts to do this? Why are Ladera Ranch Residents accepting this? At what point is O'Connell a liabilty @NicolePearsonJD @HarmeetKDhillon
@GavinNewsom @EPA @CA_PesticideReg @RobertKennedyJr @DOGE why are we forced to fund this?
How many complaints does it take for the @CA_PesticideReg to enforce law and hold chemical companies accountable? @EPA where were you when we contacted you back in 2019?
Californians, when the referee is paid by the players you know there is a problem!
Since I began researching this problem in 2019, it has weighed heavy on my heart and I won't stop exposing the corruption, IMO.
I believe our tax-funded agencies failed Ladera Ranch and that the blatant Conflict of Interest that is the @CA_PesticideReg needs to end. The fact that California Department of Pesticide Regulation is funded by the chemical companies and the ones applying them should not be lost on anyone in regard to this article.
@GavinNewsom it shouldn't take people filing demand letters to obtain public records owed to them, as I had to do in this case.
Thank you @epochtimes for writing this article! @EPA @SenBlakespear @DianeDixonAD72 @SupervisorFoley @RobertKennedyJr @OrangeCountyEOC

Californians we have a big problem!
Pesticide oversight in California runs through county Agricultural Commissioners, the same offices also license and work alongside the same pest control businesses they're supposed to police, like in this complaint about Ladera Ranch, CA circa 2021.
When the industry being regulated has a seat at the table that funds or influences the regulator, the incentive to actually hold anyone accountable quietly disappears. It's not a conspiracy; it's just how conflicts of interest work.
You don't bite the hand that keeps you in business.
Exposing the head of this snake will be paramount. (investigation report in comments)

Huge Shout-out to @AsmConnolly calling out the Pest Control Advisers who make money from selling toxic herbicides and pesticides, then act as advisors- a blatant conflict of interest.
@UnivarSolutions' own Bert Lopez, PCA for O'Connell Landscaping, tried to gaslight parents and gave harmful disinformation back in 2019. (receipt in comments)
Ladera Ranch Residents have been sounding the alarm for over a decade. @CA_PesticideReg do better! #ProtectChildren
We need a full independent audit @Damon_Connolly
@CAgovernor @POTUS @EPA @OrangeCoSheriff @GMOScience @glyphosate @GlyphosateGirl
Was it intentional misinformation?
If Bert Lopez of @univarsolutions was a true PCA versed in the Healthy Schools Act, why would Bert say that the fields our schools use for PE, Recess and Sports was not a "schoolsite"?
Bert was proven wrong by moms like myself and verified by @CA_PesticideReg Eric Denemark...
California, we have a problem with TRANSPARENCY.
CDPR @CA_PesticideReg sat on critical Ladera Ranch records—until I sent a formal demand letter and called Gov. Newsom’s office. @GavinNewsom @GovNewsroom
In 2019 we raised concerns about herbicides and pesticides at schools and parks in Ladera Ranch, CA. CDPR first released 20 files. Only after pressure, they dumped 82 more files (100+ total), including emails proving they knew about the transparency issues.
Public records shouldn’t require legal threats and the Governor’s office. We demand an independent audit.

I joined my Orange County delegation in calling for answers for our families and their children.
We sent a bipartisan letter urging federal and state authorities to immediately investigate the cluster of pediatric cancer cases in Orange County's Ladera Ranch.
Since 2013, at least six adolescents connected to the community have been diagnosed with bone and soft tissue cancers. Families have been deeply affected and deserve answers.
Link in my bio to read the full letter.
