Finally managed to have a sneaky peak 😆 at the #hathersage #lido today. I ‘will’ get back there one day and have a dip, so I can tick at least one off the 130 in the @LidoGuide I have on my bookshelf! #outdoors 🏊♀️

We have launched a nationwide campaign urging ministers to extend the financial support being offered to ‘under threat’ pools and leisure centres!
This comes as Government conduct a review of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. See more and sign the petition to help #SaveOurPools ⤵️

Ludicrous energy prices, chemical shortages, difficulty recruiting staff and now, potentially, not being able to refill their pools. For our members with pools this has been a truly horrible year!

One of the advantages of us being more environmentally friendly is that we suffer less from the current fluctuations in cost of & availability of chlorine ..we aim for an improved environmental footprint to afford sustainable processes. Our new UV system rocks 😀
Swimming pools could have to close due to national chlorine shortage metro.co.uk/2022/06/16/swimm…

Covernt Garden 1956. This is the old rooftop swimming pool at the Oasis Leisure Centre, Endell Street, High Holborn. Only the constant traffic noise and dark, overbearing buildings could shatter the illusion of basking in the Mediterranean 😉

And Joe at @JubileeParkWood on @GMB. Hopefully this drives good numbers to pools and that is sustained across the season. And the annual 'why don't we have more #lidos' question finally starts to register with strategic facility policy at @Sport_England.

If the government is serious about leisure and health, it should find a way to keep facilities like this afloat (pun intended). devonlive.com/whats-on/whats… #Devon #Buckfastleigh #ComeSwimWithUs

Our 125 yr old pool & vital community facility is once again under threat of closure this time due to spiraling running costs. At this point we have no funding for 2023 which will allow us to stay open beyond Dec 22. @Swim_England @LidoGuide @johnharris1969 #CostOfLivingCrisis
