This chart from @dswyber (caveated that the figures are wholly hypothetical) says it all - if you cut one source of investment to libraries, it's like cutting the roots of a tree - the whole ecosystem suffers. I'd love to put something like this together based on real-world data!

Have you done (or know of publicly available) library evaluation/assessment report that would be a good example for LIS students taking my Evaluation & Assessment of Library Services this fall? I'd like to use more real-world examples to complement the "how to" literature.
