Our biggest Pride yet, with 1,100+ registrations. Pride still matters when nearly 200 LGBTQ+ hate crimes were reported last year & too many people still don’t feel safe being themselves.

I will not stand by while anyone is excluded from participating in public life because there are no facilities they can safely use.
Not now. Not ever.
The Conservative Party would rather pander to a MAGA-style culture war than challenge poor guidance.
The Labour Government wants to pretend there was consensus around the appointment of the new EHRC Chair. There was not.
The Greens didn't show up.
The Liberal Democrats have been clear from the start: the EHRC's guidance must be inclusive, workable and provide clarity, so that nobody is left worried about whether they can safely access public facilities, and no individual, business or service provider is exposed to unnecessary legal risk.

Yesterday the European Parliament voted on its fundamental rights report, and the message on conversion practices was unambiguous: they must be banned. The report, adopted by 328 votes in favour, condemns conversion practices, calls out backsliding on LGBTQI+ equality across Europe, and demands the European Commission acts.
Nearly a quarter of LGBTQI+ people in the EU have experienced some form of conversion practice. The UN classifies them as torture. They have no medical basis. They cause lasting harm. And they are still happening.
@RenewEurope MEPs have been at the centre of this push, in the LIBE committee and on the floor, making the case that fundamental rights are not optional and that the Commission cannot keep delaying on the over one million citizens who signed the ECI demanding a binding ban.
The Commission now has until 18 May to formally respond to that citizens' initiative. Parliament has made its position clear. The ball is firmly in the Commission's court.
