You can get this usb and/or battery operated pencil sharpener for $7. I hope you know that every purchase takes away from those that spent years mastering the Lincoln technique and the Terrence Howard technique of artisanal pencil sharpening.

Unsure where we're at currently
It feels good knowing we now have proof that illegal aliens have been voting in our elections all along. The democrats gaslit us for years & we finally have proof.

I think I'm supposed to find a Venom song I like or something. Think it's been over 30 years since I last listened to one of my brother's cds of them.

Print shop owner and also repairer of printers for my local businesses here. HP has always had crap drivers, I've seen a printer blow through an entire stack of paper from their crap drivers that get stuck printing gibberish at least 10 times. Asmon's right that if they're selling the printer at a loss then it's their fault for the bad business model. Aftermarket inks should be at the user's discretion as it's their hardware. I do not object to a "warning" about using the inks, but "prevention" is abhorrent. The "warning" is for both sides, most people will just ignore it, but it will absolve HP of having to warranty. I've seen bad ink ruin printheads before, but that's the customer's decision to roll that die. I've used nonstandard inks plenty of times, I've also had to replace my printers because of it. A modified Epson DTF printer generally lasts me 8-10 months before the white inks cause too many issues with the printheads and maintenance station, but that's my business and I make sure to research before I buy. I don't expect Epson to bear my cost. Inkjets in the past have been notoriously bad on their own, frequently clogging and/or destroying a printhead from nonuse. The crap printer companies never really took accountability for that, but they have improved a bit over the years. I personally don't want wifi printing, especially from HP. I tried to search for some information about some settings on the configuration website for a 60" HP Latex Printer I owned once. Google returned like 8 printers that I could've logged into and flashed the firmware or sent printjobs to.

This reminds me of when I found a few chips trying to advertise "Acheta". The cricket eaters will just be like "oh, you didn't know? that's your fault, everyone calls them acheta"

Here’s something consumers should know: companies can’t simply hide this ingredient under “color added.” Since 2011, when a food contains it, FDA regulations require the ingredient statement to specifically identify it as “carmine” or “cochineal extract.” The FDA notes that potential allergic reactions in some people were part of the reason for requiring specific identification. So Check Your Labels for: 🔴 CARMINE 🔴 COCHINEAL EXTRACT

I don't know about the "top of my head" thing, I think that's kind of a Bob Ross sort of chaotic do instead of plan. Bob Ross I'm sure spent a lot of his life on trial and error, so he knows "if you mess this up you can fix it this way". My process is as a designer for the past 20 years, which is why it's so similar to AI. Someone gives me a "prompt": "I need a banner for the high school football team" Immediately in my head I'm thinking "school colors are maroon, white, black, lets maybe do maroon background with an outward fade to black, find a vector art of a quarterback charging and match up to school colors, collegiate fonts, draw a quick football field, find or draw a football" and while I have aphantasia meaning I don't "see visions in my head", I know exactly how to lay it out because my mind thinks in words. I've read Mastering Layout and such to help me design better. I learned all sorts of complex photoshop effects from hours of studying, watching tutorials and so on. As I improved I found I could one shot customer requests at a quick pace. AI is taking a lot of that labor off my back and now I can produce better designs at a fraction of the time and my customers get a better product at the same price or even less if it was something more complex that I would've spent an hour or two on.
Y'know what's funny? The longer I'm in this space, sitting in the middle of the AI art debate, the more I catch glimpses of a lot of peoples' processes when it comes to scratchin' out hand-drawn art. As someone who also draws, I'm left with a handful of questions. A couple of observations. A few musings, if you will. Primarily: When did it become so common to take mashups of reference images, cut and paste them together to make a new pose or composed image and trace your desired characters and such over it all? Hell, sometimes you just see them take screenshots or memes and just kinda scribble their stuff on top of it (reference the recent flux of Syndome memes). Here I was the whole time over many years studying anatomy and shit, trying to draw everything off the "top of my head," like "real artists" supposedly do. Y'know, to demonstrate mastery of techniques and such. Meanwhile, we got all these "hand-made" advocates out here basically using serial killer collage notes to guide their drawing hands. Did you get permission to use any of those references you chopped up? How is it functionally any different from what an AI learning model does? Is it simply that human hands touched a pencil or a stylus? What changed? What makes one okay and not the other? I'm just an old man with questions. Like what you like. Do whatever makes ya happy. I very much enjoy pretty imagery regardless if it came from a brush or a prompt, but I legitimately don't understand the difference here.

It's amazing how some things are "lost" but then again they're not really "lost". I present to you: "The Gord", I read this many years ago. One man's humorous tales about running a comic book+video game store. actsofgord.com/

Was hoping for an "inconceivable". Oh well.
Just a pro tip for you guys: if you ever find yourself saying "Hitler had the decency..." you should probably just take a tactical pause right there and reevaluate your entire life.

Bleh, tryin to be a clean soul on this platform is horrible. "Post original content" "Alright, here's all my fun things I used to do to people in Lab Wars with code" "Sorry, but that's too mean and your code is too dangerous"

"All AI does is steal a bunch of IP" There was a chunk of my life when "Trance" was popular, now it's essentially EDM. Don't recall hearing "Nothing but a bunch of IP theft slop."

The platform I almost ignored became my biggest one. IG: 10K+ TikTok: 2K+ X: 1K+ YouTube: 885 Facebook: 51 Post everywhere. You never know where your audience is.
I’ve been posting AI animation on X for 3.5 years. Not crossposting it on YT, TikTok, IG & FB (especially in the early days when there was no competition) is my biggest regret. Don’t make the same mistake. Distribution matters just as much as creation.
