On rare disease day let’s be clear — ALS is not rare. People just die from it so fast that at any given point there aren’t a ton of people living with it. That doesn’t make it rare. It makes it urgently in need of research and answers.👇🏻

Today is Rare Disease Day. A disease is "rare" if fewer than 200K people have it at any one time. ALS is designated a rare disease. 16 people each day are diagnosed with ALS & 16 others die from it. ALS isn't rare because few people get it. It's rare because it kills so quickly.
