On Monday we celebrated the grand opening of the Lethbridge Sport Bank, a new community resource dedicated to increasing access to sport and active recreation throughout southwestern Alberta. Operated by the Lethbridge Sport Council, the Sport Bank will collect, inspect, clean and distribute donated sport equipment to individuals and families facing financial barriers. The grand opening included a ceremonial ribbon cutting, community activities and a community BBQ, with the Lethbridge Bulls making the first community equipment donation. Community members can support the Sport Bank by donating gently used equipment, making a financial contribution, or partnering with the initiative.
