Do you know how much #plastic you go through in a week? Do you know where it ends up? You don't? You're not the only one!
Help us to answer these questions by joining the #BigPlasticCount! buff.ly/37n0EV1

These bodyboards were collected by @OceanRecoveryProject on a single #beachclean 😳 Fortunately, they're uniting communities to tackle the problem by gathering these boards off UK beaches & stripping them down for #recycling. Amazing! 👏💪 #waveofwaste #zerowaste #surf
#Plastic regulations are tightening, but #plasticwaste is still everywhere ☹️ Something doesn’t add up…
That's why we need the #BigPlasticCount - to uncover the truth about household plastic & what happens to it.
Will you join us? 😎 buff.ly/3wOKY7w
Heard of Project Drawdown? They believe we can start to pull #carbon out of the atmosphere by mid-century if we make the best of all #climatesolutions available now. One of these may be #bioplastics - if used in the right way. Read more here: buff.ly/3a4iB93
What's your favourite #plasticfree product? 🤔 Take a pic of you using it, include the reason you love it so much, and tag us so we can share! 🙌
We believe that everyone working together is the best way to find #zerowaste solutions to reduce our #plasticpollution 💪👊
Seahorses - one of nature's greatest creations 😍 But boat anchors can destroy the #seagrass they need to thrive 😥
That's why we've joined forces with @TheSeahorseTrust to protect seagrass - and show seahorses some love! RT to show your support ❤️💜

Switching liquid soap to bar soap can significantly #reduceplastic ❤️
Only 10% of everyday #plastic gets recycled in the UK. So liquid soap bottles have a high chance of going to landfill or incineration 😱
Bar soap is a great alternative & even better from a #zerowaste shop.
#Covid19 has hit #zerowaste shops hard. But they're at the forefront of the #plasticfree revolution & we need them to keep up the good work! 🙏
So grab loose coffee beans, refillable peanut butter or washing up liquid from your local zerowaste shop to show your support 💜 ❤️
9. #Growyourown crops - growing your own #food #plants is a fabulous way to save on #plastic 🥳
After all, nature's goodies are delivered #plasticfree! #gyo #gardening 10/10
Please retweet your favourite tip to spread the good word 😁🙏
8. Biodegradable garden sacks - if you do need a #garden waste bag, there are some fabulous #biodegradable options made from thick, #sustainable paper.
Added bonus - the whole thing can be thrown in at the tip! @Ecosack 9/10
7. Grow from #seed - instead of buying mature #plants in #plastic pots from the #garden centre.
You'll get a wider variety of #flowers & crops to choose from & save money too!
Seed packets cost around £1-3 & can grow 5-50 plants! #gardening @seed_ball @mrfothergill 8/10
6. Say no to pesticides - they come in #plastic bottles that can often only be #recycled ONCE.
Common pests, like greenfly, can be effectively removed by squirting them off with water. This also protects bluetits, which feed on them! @Natures_Voice #organic #gardening 7/10
5. Garden waste bins - instead of bagging up #gardenwaste in #plastic & tipping it, invest in a #garden bin.
Your council will collect your #plasticfree waste & take it to be composted. Fuelling #ecofriendly compost production. #plasticpollution #gardening @DalefootCompost 6/10
4. Reuse plastic pots - don't let our name fool you! If you already own #plastic pots, you should absolutely reuse them. The environmental costs for these are already sunk. But even the most #ecofriendly new material costs the #environment something. #gardening #noplanetb 5/10
3. Natural #plant supports - support climbing plants with bamboo or wicker held together with #garden twine ♥️
These are better for the #environment than #plastic - and won't last for hundreds of years after we die...!
#plasticwaste #gardening 4/10
2. Make your own compost - homemade #compost turns #foodwaste into nutritious soil!
And comes without the #plastic bags. It's win-win!
