Received the quarterly magazine for former pupils of my old school today. In it are obits for members of the classes of 1944, 1942 and 1936! Two centenarians and one who missed that mark by a few weeks. Quite the ages.
2 years for lobbing a plastic bottle at & swearing at plod seems a bit OTT when sex offenders are getting less. The court of appeal has in the past ruled it’s not an offence to swear at plod if you’re not shouting &’that they should have a reasonable expectation of being sworn at

EXCLUSIVE: Special forces soldiers believe they are “untouchable” and not all of them are the heroes they think they are, according to a former female civil servant who worked alongside them.
Monica Grenfell, who was employed at the Special Air Service (SAS) headquarters in Credenhill, near Hereford, for three years, said some of the elite troops were “feral” and it was “the nasty characters who really ruled the roost”.

Got my best words on repeat again this afternoon. Applicable to so many things, but an especially hard fuck you to fondant today.
First - make sure your marzipan layer is super smooth and allow to dry for 24 hours. 2nd beat icing with electric whisk/Kenwood to consistency of Swiss meringue buttercream. Coat cake in two parts. First a thin layer as if crumb coating. Then once set you can use a warm metal offset palette knife to smooth, before send coat.
