Made it into our own mag @pure_peak this issue - it’s only taken 15 years! True, I was a substitute for Kelvin Fletcher, but you seize your chances…

Tory Laura now asking why Lib Dems are doing badly in the polls.
Perhaps if their 71 MPs got a proportional amount of BBC coverage as the 4 Deform MPs they might be doing a bit better.

📍 SAVE OUR TRIG POINTS – PROTECT THE POINTS, PRESERVE OUR HISTORY
This is my favourite trig point. Like thousands of others across Britain, it represents an incredible chapter in our mapping history.
Between 1936 and 1962, more than 6,500 triangulation pillars were built as part of the retriangulation of Great Britain. For decades they helped Ordnance Survey accurately map the country we know today.
But their job is largely finished, and many are now deteriorating, damaged or disappearing from our landscape.
I think they deserve better.
That’s why I’ve launched the Save Our Trig Points campaign, calling for greater recognition and protection of these iconic pieces of our national heritage.
✍️ SIGN THE PETITION:
petition.parliament.uk/petit…
And I want to see yours.
📸 Post a photo of your favourite trig point in the comments and tell us where it is and why it means something to you.
Then please sign the petition and share this post. The more people who get behind the campaign, the harder it becomes for those who can actually protect them to ignore it.
They may just look like lumps of concrete on hilltops, but they tell an important story about British surveying, engineering and exploration.
Let’s make sure they’re still standing for future generations.
Protect the Points. Preserve Our History.

There's a real risk that a seriously ill patient misses out on life-saving care because they didn’t go to A&E.
The government must back our plan for a £1.5 billion package to provide an additional 6,000 beds.
Politics isn't working. It's time to fix the broken culture in Westminster and have a fresh start – beginning with a fair voting system. Add your name to @electoralreform's call to make seats in Parliament match how we vote. Sign the petition here: action.electoral-reform.org.…

Starmer’s US policy lies in tatters. Trump is now punishing the UK and NATO allies just for doing the right thing.
Time for the PM to stand firm against the bully in the White House, and work with European and Commonwealth allies to make him back down from this reckless plan.

Come on @marksandspencer where is your support for British farming. Stop misleading customers. Tomatoes and cherries are not fresh in season in January. Being in season does not mean importing them thousands of miles from Chile and Morocco! It means in season where you live!

So Buxton Town Team has been honoured with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service - and of course we wanted to mark the occasion with a display on the Slopes. Shame we had to battle gale force winds and pouring rain to do it… Teamwork! 🤗
