Some people just write stuff to write it, without actually understanding what players give up behind the scenes. So let me explain it not just with words but with numbers: Before becoming IGL, mimi played 95 GC matches for G2 Gozen (31 MVPs, almost equals to Akita stats rn). After becoming IGL, she's played 111. Comparison: Before IGL vs As IGL Rating: 1.24 -> 1.06 ACS: 222.1 -> 191.7 ADR: 147.5 -> 125.7 K/D: 1.29 -> 1.04 K-D diff: +705 -> +148 Kills/match: 33.0 -> 33.2 Assists/match: 13.5 -> 18.9 That's the part nobody sees. People only look at the front of the stage. They see the scoreboard, one bad map, one bad series, one missed shot and suddenly they act like they've got the whole picture. It's so easy to judge when you only stare at the final numbers and ignore what actually produces them. How many of them know about the nights in Discord until 2, 3, even sometimes 4 AM trying to patch things up? How much mental energy it takes to lead a team prepping, calling, adapting at mid rounds, holding people together and still being expected to frag out on top of all that??? And seriously, pls go find me an IGL. It's hard enough in VCT. Now try doing it in a scene that's a fraction of the size, with a smaller player pool and way fewer options. People talk like you can just swap leadership overnight. You can't. It doesn't work like that. This isn't me defending her because I like her. I'm trying to look at it honestly. The numbers are sitting right there. She gave up her individual ceiling (kills/match: 33.0 -> 33.2 btw) for the structure of Gozen. Criticize the performances?? sure. that's part of competing. But before you type certain things, at least stop and think about what the player might be giving up for the team. Because the scoreboard doesn't show leadership. It doesn't show responsibility. And sometimes the player who looks less flashy than before is actually carrying a way heavier role than people realize...
