Hi @Marriott! Wondering if you might need a refresher on the definition of "guaranteed" because my reservation does indeed guarantee a room with a roll-in shower and I got a "hearing accessible" room with a bathroom I barely fit in. Why does this keep happening? Fix your system.

Today’s my 10 year #disability anniversary of creating @RampYourVoice!! What a journey to be on this ride. And to have established a name for myself that exceeded my dreams. And still… I’m not even close to being done. Can’t wait to see what the next decade has for me.

Do not hesitate or wait to put grab bars, a tub cut out etc in your house when you grow old or if you have mobility issues. Put grab bars in your bathroom before you fall in the shower, not because you already had a fall in the shower. reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/com…

Austin police officers arrested a deaf, elderly woman at ABIA for trespassing, but she just misunderstood instructions from a ticket clerk. Because she’s elderly and deaf. She spent 3 nights in the Travis County Jail, where a jailer broke her arm. She wasn’t taken to the ER.

There are two things to be thankful for here and one of them is the presence of interpreters on the #Oscars Red Carpet. Thanks to @andraealavant and the Hollywood #DisCo

Even as a college educated, Senate confirmed, philanthropist diplomat, Judy Heumann, like hundreds of thousands of other people with disabilities, lived in fear of not being able to afford the supports and services she needed to live in the community. bit.ly/3T8oFTg

In a new piece @thenation, @RebeccaCokley writes about the "gargantuan gaps in our social insurance landscape" that have made “'work until you die' ... the retirement plan for so many disabled people" thenation.com/article/societ…
