This great little Tassie-made game just launched into early access (and I did a little bit of tech art on it). Check it out!

I smashed out this fun fire VFX prototype today. It was a fun, little Tech-art exercise. It's all 2D and uses a vertex offset in the shader to give it the illusion of depth when rotating around the sphere.

There is a great thread about the technique here by @Ed_dV. While I used a slightly different technique to push the vertices towards the camera. This thread perfectly breaks down how and why to do it xitter.cf/Ed_dV/status/105098698…

There is something funny about how the "read blog" button in the email that @unity sent out, (announcing unity 6 is here) gives a 404 error

welcome, new bluesky users 🫡 bsky.app/download
Soon we’ll be launching a change to how the block function works. If your posts are set to public, accounts you have blocked will be able to view them, but they will not be able to engage (like, reply, repost, etc.).

wild that we go through a vetting process of upwards of 4+ interviews, portfolio reviews, art tests, years learning the proprietary engines/tools not to mention the tribal knowledge development- only to be cut for a cynical business practice made to make the board feel good

I've got to give a blanket goodbye to everyone I didn't get to say goodbye to tonight. There were just too many great people to chat with tonight and I don't have faith in the combination of PTV and my time blindness

It's clear from their parallels talk that @tdogextreme is not just making one of the best dating sims, but also finally giving us proper authentic clown representation in games (complete with the often misunderstood clown eldritch powers)

Working with all the folks at Toast was such a treat! They are so deserving of this and really puts everything into this game
WE JUST WON AN AGDA! 🎉🙌🎊🥂 Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make this happen - the incredibly talented team at Toast, everyone externally who brought their skills to the game, our friends and family who supported us through development, and such a passionate community of VR fans in Australia and across the world. Cheers to Australian games, cheers to VR, and cheers to Max Mustard! 🍻 #VR #VirtualReality @Screen_QLD #GCAP #AGDAs @The_AGDAs

The duality of my rigging talk at GCAP today. Thanks so much to everyone who came along! Hearing people found it helpful, and that they learned a bunch of new things, has made me very happy. Definitely a worthwhile experience
