A trend continues to display gender segregation in the workforce, where males dominate management roles and graduates entering the workforce are disproportionally female. This may point to exclusion that occurs over the course of careers, being particularly pronounced for females

Sally Hasler says it well. Meanwhile I have been in contact with key policymakers Australia-wide to take up the recommendations of the Victorian report. The evidence base is overwhelming & there's no point in re-inventing the wheel. It's time for action. womensagenda.com.au/latest/t…

Australian women having a cardiac arrest are less likely to: 🩷 Have the arrest recognised in the 000 call, 🩷 Receive bystander CPR and an AED shock, 🩷 Receive ALS interventions and post-resuscitation care, 🩷 Survive to hospital discharge. @ARC_resus @aus_roc

Safety rules and regulations are written in blood. A thousand someones were mangled, maimed, crushed, ripped apart, sickened, killed before OSHA came. I can promise you that.

This highlights perfectly what paramedics and @VicAmboUnion are trying to achieve, an EBA that delivers conditions to improve work life balance conducive of a family. It also highlights that if not, we will leave @JacintaAllanMP #springst #ambosdeservealifetoo
The Australasian Paramedic Workforce Survey showed a great desire for flexibility in the workplace; a reduction in time pressures. Also, 34% of paramedics now work outside of a jurisdictional ambulance service! #ACPIC24

Totally anecdotal but I also find that fertility problems are a lot higher in paramedic friends than nursing and non medical friends all of similar demographics.

Menstrual cycle disorders are 14.43% higher in paramedics than the Australian average. 29% of respondents used hormonal contraception to make it easier to work in the paramedic environment. Thank you @Lisa_Hobbs_ for contextualising working conditions. #ACPIC24
