The second Floatation-REST study from my @IGPP_Freiburg lab as @PsyArXiv preprint, with Iraklis Pantazis. Participants report a stronger feeling of afterglow as measured with an afterglow inventory, more state mindfulness, and more interoceptive awareness

I am looking forward to discussing the paper! Thanks to @aliusresearch
for the opportunity and @GeorgeFejer for hosting.
Join our next Journal Club, where @LarryDFort and @Titoschmi will present their recently published work on "Classification Schemes for Altered States of Consciousness" doi.org/10.31234/osf.io/pmuq…

We review 22 ASC classification schemes, proposing eight clusters of experience. A🧵:
7/8 Our clustering analysis suggests the start of a phenomenological state-space model to encapsulate experiences under ASCs which can assist in the identification of NCCs. Our work may assist in reducing redundancy in ASC investigation by synthesizing conceptual groundwork.
8/8 Thankful for the collaborative support of @Giga_CRCivi, @GIGA_ULiege, @UniversiteLiege, @IGPP_Freiburg, @FU_Berlin, and @frsFNRS.
For those who missed our tutorial at #ASSC27 slides for the "Empirical Study of Altered States of Consciousness" are now available.
I'd personally like to thank both @Titoschmi and @costines for the amazing collaboration. Looking forward to the future 🥳

Great commentary by @singletonion and @amykooz on our recent #psychedelics paper! Totally agree that simultaneous EEG-fMRI can help disentangle neural and neurovascular effects to better understand the neural background of the psychedelic state. More work to be done!
My comment with @amykooz on the recent (and very nice) psilocybin fMRI paper by @SMortaheb & @ADemertzi is now live. TLDR: the global signal debate continues!

This was a great talk, wonderfully presented. Highly anticipating the preprint. Its adjacent opinion paper is already out:

Fascinating work 👏
Was a pleasure to present my work this afternoon on using compuational models to investigate psychedelics as a treatment for DoC. Preprint soon @ASSC27tokyo @theASSC #ASSC27
