LSETF EMPOWERS ENTREPRENEURS IN ALIMOSHO WITH BUSINESS LOANS, URGES RESPONSIBLE UTILISATION The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), in partnership with Alimosho Local Government, has presented loan cheques to qualified entrepreneurs under its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) financing programme, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to affordable finance, promoting entrepreneurship, and stimulating economic growth across Lagos State. The cheque presentation ceremony, held at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat on the 20th of July, brought together government officials, LSETF representatives, and beneficiaries to celebrate another milestone in the State Government’s efforts to empower business owners and create sustainable livelihoods. Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson commended the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for its continued investment in initiatives that improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents. He also applauded LSETF for extending financial support to entrepreneurs within Alimosho, noting that access to affordable finance remains a critical driver of business growth, job creation, and local economic development. Addressing the beneficiaries, the Chairman urged them to make judicious use of the loan facilities, describing the intervention as an investment in their future rather than a grant for personal consumption. In her remarks, the Director of Programmes at LSETF, Mrs. Oyindamola Egbeyemi reiterated the Fund’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs beyond financing by equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to build sustainable businesses. She explained that all beneficiaries undergo entrepreneurship and business management training before receiving financial support, covering key areas such as financial literacy, bookkeeping, marketing, customer relations, and business management. Mrs. Egbeyemi advised beneficiaries to maintain strict financial discipline by separating personal expenses from business capital, stressing that prudent financial management is essential for business sustainability. Egbeyemi further encouraged beneficiaries to keep their contact information updated with LSETF to enable continuous engagement and access to future intervention programmes designed to support business expansion. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and LSETF for the financial support, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. They noted that the loans would enable them to expand their businesses, purchase equipment, increase productivity, and create employment opportunities within their communities. The highlight of the event was the formal presentation of loan cheques to the beneficiaries by the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government alongside officials of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. The loan disbursement is expected to improve access to productive capital for entrepreneurs, strengthen the growth and sustainability of MSMEs, promote financial inclusion, stimulate local economic activities, and contribute to employment generation across Alimosho Local Government and Lagos State. @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @LSETF @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @LanreBajulaiye @BarrBimbola @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG

LAGOS DSVA FACILITATES SAFEGUARDING SESSION FOR TRAINEES OF THE LSETF X KTI EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM As part of its continuous efforts to promote the protection, safety, and well-being of young people, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) was invited on Wednesday, 8th of October to facilitate a safeguarding session for trainees of the LSETF X KTI Employability Program. The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (@LSETF), in collaboration with the Knowledge Exchange Institute (KTI), launched the Employability Program to tackle youth unemployment and create sustainable job opportunities across Lagos State. Understanding that safeguarding is a vital part of youth development, the program partnered with DSVA to equip participants with knowledge on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and the principles of safe learning and working environments. Mr. Damilare, Head of DSVA’s Community Engagement Unit, anchored the session. He educated participants on the various forms of SGBV, clarifying the difference between rape and defilement, and highlighting red flags that may signal a potential abuser. He also stressed that safeguarding is not just a collective responsibility but begins with self-awareness and individual accountability. The session was highly interactive, as trainees asked questions, shared perspectives, and engaged in open dialogue on the realities of domestic and gender-based violence. By the end of the program, participants not only gained a stronger understanding of SGBV but were also inspired to contribute to building safer communities. #LagosDSVA #SGBVItConcernsUsAll #SGBVNotOnMyWatch #SGBVNotInMyLagos #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG @followlasg

Young people are not just the future, they are the present force driving innovation, productivity, and growth. To harness this potential, we must provide the right platforms for them to thrive. Today, @UNDPNigeria, we deepened our partnership with the Lagos State Government by signing a new MoU with the @LSETF to co-create a dynamic, future-ready workforce. Through this partnership, over 2,000 young people will be equipped with cutting-edge skills in sectors such as the Creative, Digital, and Renewable Energy industries, while also strengthening MSMEs as core engines of job creation and innovation in Nigeria. We are investing in young people not as beneficiaries but as the primary drivers of sustainable development. My sincere appreciation to @followlasg, under the leadership of H.E. @jidesanwoolu, for their unwavering commitment to co-creating pathways for Nigeria’s next generation of innovators and leaders.

LAGOS DSVA ENGAGES STAFF OF THE LAGOS STATE EMPLOYMENT TRUST FUND (LSETF) As part of its continuous awareness and advocacy drive, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) held a sensitization seminar for employees of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (@LSETF) on 1st September, 2025. The session was designed to strengthen knowledge of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), highlight workplace-related abuses, and promote a culture of prevention and accountability within the organization. The Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, was represented by Mrs. Ebose Kafayat of the Community Engagement Department. In her address, Mrs. Kafayat reiterated the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating SGBV across all sectors of society. She emphasized that the zero-tolerance policy remains a top priority, assuring participants that the government is determined to ensure a safe environment where all citizens can live, work, and thrive without fear of violence or abuse. The presentation explored critical aspects of SGBV, particularly how they manifest in professional settings. Employees were educated on different forms of abuse such as harassment, intimidation, exploitation, and inappropriate advances. Mrs. Kafayat also highlighted the importance of consent, stressing that any sexual activity without consent is a crime. She explained the far-reaching consequences of defilement and rape, noting that such crimes are not limited to vulnerable groups but can affect working-class individuals, often resulting in career setbacks, reputational damage, and psychological trauma. Participants were reminded of the legal consequences under Lagos State law, which prescribes severe penalties, including imprisonment and life sentences, depending on the offense. The seminar was highly interactive, with employees actively contributing to discussions and showing strong commitment to DSVA’s mission. On behalf of the Agency, Mrs. Kafayat expressed gratitude to the LSETF Executive Secretary, Mrs. Feyisayo Alayande, for providing the platform. She concluded by reaffirming DSVA’s readiness to continue partnering with LSETF to build safer workplaces and ultimately achieve a Lagos free from all forms of violence. For support or to report cases of abuse, DSVA remains available through its toll-free hotline 0800-333-333, via lagosdsva.org, or at its office at 3, Otunba Jobe Fele Way, CBD Alausa, Ikeja. #LagosDSVA #SGBVItConcernsUsAll #SGBVNotInMyLagos #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG @followlasg
