Faculty members and graduate students came together on October 5 to present ongoing AI research, discuss future directions, and highlight opportunities for students to get involved in AI-driven projects.

The School of Engineering at LAU welcomed its newest faculty members during an orientation session on Friday, October 2.
ALT The School of Engineering at the Lebanese American University (LAU) welcomed its new faculty members during a faculty orientation session held on Friday, October 2. The session provided an opportunity to introduce our newest colleagues to the School’s academic programs, research activities, institutional priorities, and community, while fostering connections and collaboration across our diverse engineering disciplines. We are pleased to welcome: Dr. Johny Mouallem, Dr. Ghattas Akkad, Dr. Chihab Nadri, Dr. Wassim Estephan,Dr. Ribal Atallah. We look forward to their contributions to our academic and research community and to their role in advancing the School of Engineering’s commitment to excellence in education, impactful research, and innovation.
They came to the School of Engineering Summer Camp as high school students trying to figure out which kind of engineer to become. Today, they are LAU engineering students, and four of them returned this summer as ushers for the next group of campers.

Dr. Greg Heileman, LAU Provost, presents findings from a large-scale study on what drives engineering student success, and what stands in its way.
LAU Chemical Engineering students took top honors at the inaugural AIChE regional conference, hosted by the School of Engineering at the LAU Byblos campus.
Organized by the LAU Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the two-day conference brought together nearly 80 engineering students from universities across Lebanon for technical sessions, competitions, workshops, and industry engagement.
The Double Degree Program gives LAU engineering students the opportunity to earn two degrees—one from LAU and another from a partner university—while gaining valuable exposure to international coursework, research, and academic environments.
