PEN America has raised alarms around language in #Project2025 that could create a federal policy about what books are allowed in schools.
Now, a Republican trifecta in Washington is raising concerns over the potential for national book ban legislation. thehill.com/homenews/educati…

If you’re nervous and don’t know what to do, may I suggest one thing:
Become a paying member, or donate to, a public interest group and/or local activists groups in your area.
I’m (literally) a card carrying member of @americansunited, & locally I donate to @LACitAntiCensor
Congratulations to our friends in Texas, & THANK YOU for fighting to protect the right to read!!
Victory in #LafayetteLa!
This is an extremely important victory for us in federal court - it means it doesn't matter who sits in the board president's chair - that person is still responsible for the continued denial of citizens' First Amendment rights!

Doublespeak at its finest.
It was great to be back at my alma mater @LSU, to join @LAGovJeffLandry as he signed an executive order on Free Speech on Louisiana campuses. As some activists, professors, and provocateurs try to censor and cancel students’ viewpoints across the country, we are taking a strong stance that it will not be tolerated in Louisiana! ⚜️🇺🇸

Everyone who cares about free speech and libraries should be watching this case very closely - its outcome may very well decide the future of free and open library collections.
LA's Attorney General, Liz Murrill, has filed an amicus brief supporting TX.

#FakeNews #CFNL #LyingLunsford
Michael Lunsford has reached a new level in creating his fictional boogieman of the “purple haired” library supporter.
He is now using AI to create the image of his supposed enemies he has in his head. Michael Lunsford is delusional and weird

Louisiana - are you paying attention?? @AGLizMurrill has filed a brief IN SUPPORT of states who ban books and AGAINST the First Amendment right of citizens to read what they want.
WHAT INFORMATION ARE THEY TRYING TO KEEP FROM YOU???
Here is the Amicus Brief filed by FL’s AG (and other states coincidentally impeding on the First Amendment rights of its citizens): scribd.com/document/76822684…
