Insightful exchange with @fhpatienteurope.
Around 90 million Europeans live with inherited lipid disorders – yet 98% of Lp(a) cases & 90% of Familial Hypercholesterolemia remain undiagnosed.

What do current guidelines / statements say about Lp(a) & why did I also take the opportunity to test it? 😎#EASCongress2024 #MyEAS2024 #EASSoMe – at Colombier-Saugnieu, France

Today we support Lp(a) Awareness Day. Elevated Lp(a) can affect anyone, from any background, age or gender. It's an invisible condition. It's People Like Us. Thank you for your support throughout this awareness campaign.❤️#LpaAwarenessDay #PeopleLikeUs #KnowLpa #FHEurope

Know your numbers! Lp(a) is considered high >50 mg/dL or 125 nmol/L. Do not mix up the units! High Lp(a) is an independent risk factor for CVD. The higher the concentration, the higher the risk. Watch: bit.ly/Lpa-explained

Florian Kronenberg at #AHA23: Number of kringle IV-2 repeats doesn't tell the whole story, there are Lp(a) lowering SNP's that, when combined, can counterbalance ⬆️ Lp(a) levels from ⬇️ number of KringleIV-2 repeats. Quite complex, isn't it? @drpablocorral @Drlipid @marciominame
