With roots in both Pittsburgh and Los Angeles, our ARTIST TO WATCH of the week is @MyFavoriteCoIor 🎨 My Favorite Color’s freestyle about his kitten, Dilla (check slide 4) was my first introduction to the rapper. I was sold immediately. Not only did it make me laugh, there were some BARS in there, which is something I always appreciate. He’s pretty notorious on social media for dropping similar freestyle videos about any and everything where he showcases both humor and skill. The humor is just one side of the coin though. If you dive deeper into his discography, you will find 2 full length projects and a multitude of singles where you can find him digging a lot deeper. He speaks openly about the things going on inside his head; touching on love, family and mental health. Several words come to mind when I think of My Favorite Color: original, funny, talented, multifaceted. Becoming recently independent has granted him the creative freedom to really do things his way and he’s standing 10 toes down on that. He’s carving his own lane and it’s working for him. I believe he’s a true testament to what operating as your authentic self, can get you. Refusing to be boxed in to any one genre or sound, I’m excited to see what else My Favorite Color has in store. As always, there’s a 10-track playlist to get you familiar🤝🏽👇🏽 open.spotify.com/playlist/7g… ⭐️ @tesscookitforme
