Go Olivia Go!
I know that we can count on Olivia to stand up for people, and their human rights and their dignity and wellbeing. It's so important that everyone gets out to vote on Monday October 26th Olivia. Or we could get stuck with a mayor we do not want and cannot afford. Brad Bradford will say anything to get elected. He flip flops. He cant be counted on. We can't trust him. We know who @oliviachow Chow is. So please make sure you go and vote for Olivia. A Mayor we can trust.

An ownership stake instead of the conservative way of giving endless blank cheques with our tax dollars is the way.
NEW: Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles is calling on the Ford government to "buy Stelco." "I'm calling on the premier to work with the federal government to push Cleveland Cliffs to give up their ownership interest in Stelco and establish public ownership." #onpoli

When it comes to universities, more often than not they’ll always choose the money. Look at how many college football players across the US have had credible SA charges brought against them yet those charges always disappear. Cornell isn’t a disease, it’s a symptom of one.

If Cornell protected students because they come from wealthy or influential families, that isn’t “promising futures” it’s privilege. A university should not have one standard for ordinary students and another for students whose families have money and connections. If women’s safety and accountability can be compromised to protect powerful students, that is a serious failure of the institution.

Cornell university wouldn’t expel all 7 students because five of them had “promising futures”. That’s a lie. Five of them have ultra rich parents who pays a lot of money to Cornell. That’s the truth. Cornell chose money over women’s health. Sickening.

Our home ON native land. You couldn't have been any more accurate. 👊🏿
Five years after Canada Reads, I stood at the 2023 NBA All Star Game with one of the biggest opportunities of my career, and I sang “Our home ON native land.” One word. Not for attention, applause, or to speak for Indigenous people. I did it because I've been listening.

Even longer wait times: this is what every expert said would happen if Ford allowed for-profit clinics open up.
Outsourcing surgeries and imaging to private for-profit clinics in Ontario didn't drop wait times for most procedures. Wait times worsened for cataract surgery and MRI. CT scan didn't improve. Profiteering just doesn't work. @a_longhurst ctvnews.ca/toronto/article/w…

I was flabbergasted to see @CityofKitchener staff destroying the naturalized garden in front of Huron NATURAL Area this morning ahead of the FOREST Festival. They cut down all the native sumac trees that were planted intentionally to create a natural habitat space.

And so here we are. This statement from Trump blows my mind. That a sitting president would not let any renovations to a public building go on unless he gets to first put his name in the said building… What a sad state of affairs. What a tragedy. Actually, how small minded, how narcissistic. Actually great men, devoted to public service and the public good do not act like this. It seems that this man will not rest until his name is permanently connected to the name of a great president, whose memory this building was dedicated to. Imagine spending your time and your days focused on this, as everyday Americans struggle with healthcare, gas prices, rent, and food. Imagine spending your days focused on this, while a war rages under your leadership. Enough said. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Selling off the airports is a dumb idea. It’s going to be like the 407. Canadians will need to pay an extra $100 or whatever when we take a flight. Some foreign company like Ferrovial will pocket our money.

A teenage boy seriously assaulted a girl. People immediately reminded everyone that he was young and had his whole life ahead of him. The girl was also young. She also had her whole life ahead of her. But somehow his age became a reason to protect his future, while hers became something she was expected to recover from. We need to stop treating a boy's potential as more important than a girl's trauma.

30 students in a kindergarten classroom is not developmentally appropriate, and in many cases is not safe. Young children are easily overwhelmed and overstimulated in large classes, and meltdowns are common. Our youngest learners deserve so much better. #OntEd

$5 used to buy me a loaf of bread and a can of tuna in 2018. Now $5 gets me the bread OR the tuna. Not both. This is why your non-verbal child with Autism no longer has a 1:1 Educational Assistant to keep them safe at school. Thank you for coming to my #EdTalk. #OntEd
