At approximately 1.2 𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐨𝐭𝐚 𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, Philippine Coast Guard monitored 𝐂𝐌𝐌𝐕 9622 as it deployed 24 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐬, each manned by two individuals. The small boats spread out at roughly 50-𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐬 and were later observed circling within 300 yards of the island while engaged in fishing.
Kota Island is an integral part of the Municipality of Kalayaan, Palawan. Fishing by foreign vessels within its territorial sea, without Philippine authority, violates Philippine sovereignty, Philippine fisheries laws, and the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚. CMMV 9622's refusal to answer radio challenges likewise disregards basic norms of good seamanship.
The footage highlights the close proximity of Chinese vessels to the territorial sea of Kota Island and underscores the continuing challenges faced by the Philippine Coast Guard in monitoring maritime activities in the area.

WATCH: A government vehicle bearing plate number 8, a plate designation associated with members of the House of Representatives, was spotted at NAIA Terminal 1, reportedly being used to pick up individuals who appeared to be Chinese.

The Animal Kingdom Foundation (#AKF) in Capas, Tarlac, has taken in three dogs allegedly ab*sed by a vlogger in Lemery, Batangas, after they reportedly chewed his expensive slippers.
The incident, caught on video, sparked widespread outrage on social media and calls for justice for the animals.
AKF said the dogs have been transferred to its rescue center for medical care, recovery and rehabilitation. One of the rescued dogs is pregnant.
