Elon Musk flips a vehicle upside down and everyone claps and cheers. But when I do it, suddenly I'm "recklessly endangering children" and "unfit to be a school bus driver".

In 2024, nine of the ten most affordable American housing markets were in the Midwest. 🏘️ 🏗️ 🌽 Contrary to the caricature, the Midwestern places with the best housing affordability (using the portion of income spent on housing) have strong local economies, not vast stretches of vacant blocks. Across the country, all of the top-ten areas by housing affordability in 2024 ranked in the top half nationally for household income, and seven had a strong manufacturing sector. Check out this collab from @jessrems and @phoenixvu_ explaining how the Midwest has succeeded and what it needs to do now to avoid the fate of country's costlier non-coastal regions @InnovateEconomy. (And, by the way, having grown up in Indiana, I have every right to use that corn emoji.)

I hope Greta Gerwig has the courage to include Aslan’s terrifying, Oppenheimer-esque final warning at the end of The Magician’s Nephew.

Incredibly excited that we @Arnold_Ventures, in conjunction with @IFP and @_HannahRitchie are launching a new U.S. Energy Data Platform. It is and will remain free to the public. And it's a massive leap from anything that exists presently in its space. usenergydata.org/

As Thune says, the main impediment to the remaining items on the agenda is Dems seeing it in their interest to give Trump a win. This timely @ppavnr x @JaneAFlegal piece makes the case in WSJ for why the party should want a permitting deal in particular. wsj.com/opinion/dems-should-…
Sen. Thune made news on my radio show today, telling @jenningsshow that PERMITTING REFORM may get done BEFORE Election Day.
