🧵5/? Invest in low-cost evidence-based supplemental resources like UFLI foundations for phonics. Ensure you're teaching science and social studies each day (do a close and careful look at the schedule of the day!) and invest in materials to support content areas.

Read to your newborn. 📚 With hearing developing during the final months of gestation, it’s never too early to begin reading to your baby. And this mom is giving us an absolute master class in how to do it right. Note first that she’s reading face-to-face. At this age (10 weeks), there is literally nothing more thrilling - or instructional - to your newborn than your face. Check out how intently focused baby is on mom’s voice and facial expressions. Mom reads with expression and emotion, alternating between glances at the text and direct eye contact with her adoring audience of one. And there is so much going on in that developing brain. Did you know that during the earliest years of life babies form new neural connections at an estimated 1 million per SECOND? With these types of rich daily interactions, mom is setting her baby up for a lifetime of success. Kudos to KelseyPaumer (IG) on this fantastic and educational 🎥 clip.

Beautifully put, Regie!
THE BEST RESOURCE -is only as good as teachers' knowledge of reading, writing, & content -our ability to adapt & apply a resource to student's strengths, needs, and interests -our trusting relationships with students &, also, administrators- OR NOT

Talking about seating and environment: The way that a classroom is set up should never be driving the opportunity for children to engage with each other. How can we in-the-moment manipulate the classroom environment so that it’s invitational?” Terri Savage #SoMLA2023

It was wonderful stopping by @hcpss_ces for their Career Day where we discussed what it’s like being county executive, future careers, and their upcoming Stimulated Congressional Hearings. Our Cougars are off to such bright careers, and I cannot wait to see all they will achieve!
