Many thanks to all who came along to our annual carolling under the conker tree, was a lovely Christmassy hour. Special thanks also to @tomcarradine, Frani and Fran for accompanying us!
Join us to sing traditional and family festive favourites under the conker tree on River Lawn and show that this is a useful space worthy of Village Green status. Wrap up warm and bring a torch or lantern!

A trip down memory lane today, with a quick visit to where it all began for us! Five years ago this amazing tree was threatened with being cut down, but thanks to brilliant brave campaigners, it was saved & the conkers are bigger than ever! @KeepRiverLawn #ConkersNotConcrete – at Tonbridge, South East

I’ve spent the winter taking cuttings from some of the rarest clones of the rare native black poplar tree & transporting them to their new home on the River Roding by backpack, bike & tube. I’ve planted over 100 potential new trees & now waiting to see which ones burst into life
The #KeepRiverLawnGreen campaign was spearheaded by Mark in the early days, and would possibly be a block of flats if not for him. It would certainly have one tree less. Good luck in your re-election campaign for #JuddWard 💚🌳💚

Mark has campaigned to save open spaces like River Lawn and protect the Green Belt around Tonbridge from unsuitable development.

Good news that since climbing the Wellingborough Lime Tree, @NNorthantsC seem to be taking their responsibilities seriously & no further trees have been felled. Hoping this continues & NNC demand the developer makes public the docs below, which will determine if felling is lawful
