It was an honor to present one of Caltech's Everhart Lectures this year, in which I shared some of my thesis work with the broader community. If you want to see it for yourself, it's uploaded here! youtube.com/watch?v=97Fe3voD…

! New paper! We found that GWs from merging supermassive black holes create correlations in pulsar pairs, akin to "Hellings and Downs" curve. We can use these different correlations to definitively distinguish individual binaries from the GW background journals.aps.org/prd/pdf/10.…

We did this! With GWTC-5.0 we can now measure this parameter that describes how much the memory contributes to the gravitational wave signal (which should be 1 if the universe is exactly described by GR) to 0.26, -4.08 or +4.09. Only a few more thousand events to go!
Replying to @KeefeMitman
But who knows! Maybe if we rerun our analysis on the recently-released GWTC-5.0 we'll see more promise... (stay tuned!) If you want to learn more or if you have any questions, check out the paper on arXiv or feel free to ask me here! arxiv.org/abs/2605.27500 12/13

When you look up at the night sky, you're looking out on a universe that is ever evolving: planets orbit, stars twinkle, and black holes collide. Moreover, thanks to @LIGO, we know that the "spacetime fabric" also evolves as gravitational waves ripple through it! 1/13

New @NANOGrav paper! We targeted 114 AGN to ask if specific galaxies host supermassive black hole binaries — getting ~2x better constraints. Two sources stood out, so we built a detection protocol. We named them Rohan and Gondor. The beacons are lit!šŸ”ļøšŸ”ļøšŸ”„ news.yale.edu/2026/02/05/bea…

šŸŽ‰ Happy paper publication day! šŸŽ‰ Our third catalog of binary black hole simulations, now published in Classical and Quantum Gravity. And it's open access! Scheel et al. 2025 Class. Quantum Grav. 42 195017 iopscience.iop.org/article/1… Also on the @arxiv at arxiv.org/abs/2505.13378
We are excited to release a major update to our catalog of binary black hole simulations, available at arxiv.org/abs/2505.13378! Such simulations are key to LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA being able to extract science from their gravitational wave detections. 1/14
