This just fucking hurts, 2 weeks tomorrow, I miss you so much Dad. This is so hard.
On Tuesday we said goodbye to my Dad after a brave very hard almost 2 year fight with cancer. He is pain and cancer free now. This week has been really hard! :( #fuckcancer

Just another day where there should have been a statement about the rainfall this AM for Cape Breton but EC drops the ball again. Only had 20mm forecasted for my area, got more than double that easy. Do better.

Models indicating the possibility of heavy rain tonight for some areas already dealing with flooding in Cape Breton. While they will be isolated if they do occur, puzzled as to why ECCC has no mention of it. Guess we haven’t learned from the last several weeks. #nsstorm #nswx

Today Nova Scotians are mourning the loss of a woman who died during the flooding in our province. My thoughts are with her loved ones and everyone who is grieving this tragic loss. I want to thank the first responders, emergency workers, volunteers and municipal teams who are working tirelessly to keep people safe and support communities affected by the flooding. To everyone in Nova Scotia, please continue to take care of yourselves and each other and follow the advice of local authorities. Stay off the roads while the weather is bad. Your safety is our priority.
Richmond County District RCMP, together with ground search and rescue and fire services volunteers, recovered the body of a woman reported missing September 5. rcmp.ca/en/nova-scotia/news/…

I got 9 inches of rain in less than 48 hours, other places had even more. Nuts! Sump pumps still emptying but are starting to somewhat slow down. I need a nap lol

Please stay off the roads unless your trip is absolutely necessary. Heavy rainfall has caused dozens of damaged roads in Cape Breton and Eastern Mainland Nova Scotia. Conditions can change quickly, and some roads may be unsafe or impassable. If you don’t need to travel, stay home and wait for conditions to improve. If you must travel: • Call 511 to check on road conditions before leaving. • Watch for closures and travel advisories. • Never drive through flooded or damaged roadways. • Turn around if you encounter unsafe conditions. Your best route right now may be no route at all. Stay safe and stay informed.

Our crews are out across Eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton assessing damage to roads and bridges. We will know the full details after the storm ends and water recedes. Crews and equipment will be relocated from other parts of the province to complete repairs, if needed.

Snow began to melt last night in the rain, system has mostly cleared out but temps remain colder than seasonal(below 5c) with windchill. Both my male and female ruby throated hummingbirds are drinking like crazy today since 6am. Warm up coming in a few days!
