The first wave of tech disruption of democracy 2016-2024 is over. What starts now is something much, much worse: the age of information chaos.

What are peatlands and why do they matter?
While peatlands make up only 3% to 4% of the Earth’s land surface, they store up to one-third of all carbon on earth—just one reason countries should include them in climate commitments. #NatureBasedSolutions pew.org/3VUdIHN

France’s extraordinary election results provide an urgent, valuable lesson.
Don’t concede ground to those who sow division and fear. Build a bold Left movement that offers an alternative of inclusion and hope.

GHG emissions in Ireland from small-scale peat extraction (just from the drained land, not counting peat combustion) are about 25% higher than emissions from international aviation (3 Mt) and around 60% of the emissions from all power generation in 2023 (7 Mt).
The emissions from small-scale peat mining has, for the first time, been added to our national emissions inventory... and they nearly *double* the emissions from other 'managed' peatland sources...
Mining for domestic fuel is a significant source of GHGs
