Beggars belief given it's 2026 and all we know about a warming planet / damage... but major petro-states / polluters are trying to gum up global #climate science. Part 789.

The Starlink restriction over Ukraine is a perfect illustration of the danger of relying on US technology. Finding alternatives that aren’t Chinese is difficult and expensive- but I expect the drive to accelerate

It does appear as though I made an error in a report I made for the IEA back in March which @DrSimEvans has picked up on without tagging me & he's blocked me. However, there's more to say. A thread 🧵(1/7)

Indication the Turkish Govt’s clampdown on media freedom is extending and likely to go further. I appear to be the only foreign journalist (so far) affected by a recent wave of online censorship. It’s a broad spectrum targeting X accounts of Turkish journalists, academics, media freedom, human rights and LGBTQ+ rights groups on ‘obscenity’ grounds. More than 1000 X accounts were blocked in Turkey in Sept - more than the entire 2025. I’ve been given no explanation for this action 🧵

Based on the new Reform criteria (official or otherwise) I'm apparently not English as all my great grandparents were Irish or German. Who makes the cut? Truly bizarre behaviour.

37% of new trucks sold in China are now electric. They’re not little vans - they’re 49 tons. Unaffected by diesel prices. Simply not held back by the fossil fuel lobby.
