I’m a mum whose son is very intelligent and gentle, and also has a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
The sheer cruelty in comments left on posts about this heartbreaking incident has reduced me and a whole community to tears. Shame on every single person who has left a vile comment about this awful incident. A young man has died. His family could read your words. Have some basic human decency.
Psychosis means a complete break from reality. Unless you’ve cared for someone through that crisis, you cannot
understand the trauma that comes with that..its horrific. Watching your child suffer, day after day, is beyond painful. Then having to witness society ridicule and dehumanise people with serious mental illness is sickening.
Schizophrenia can affect someone you love. Remember that before you leave your next cruel comment.

The death of William Chapman has brought into sharp focus the prejudice, hatred & lack of compassion that people living with mental illness continue to endure.
Those who have posted vile comments about William, SHAME ON YOU

The most horrifying part of the BMJ report on sexual violence against Palestinians is the accounts involving CHILDREN.
Children witnessing or experiencing sexual violence in detention. Girls afraid to walk to school because of sexualised abuse at checkpoints.
Please read and share this article from *The BMJ* on *"Sexual violence against Palestinians". It’s difficult reading, but must be shared. Five doctors and legal scholars examine the evidence and call for independent investigations and accountability.

It's absolutely fabulous to see a woman with strong principles that she stands by even if she loses out financially - I agree.
Sally Rooney is the kind of inspirational woman so many of us admire.

Journalist Hind Khoudary has sent the Gaza Municipality appeal (fundraising link) to several celebrities with millions of followers.
They ignored her. This is what Gaza actually means to many "celebrities": a hunt for fame and money.
I am calling on you, alongside her, to share this appeal: gaza-city.org/campaign/6

The plans for social care sound promising, but there’s no good social care without a properly functioning NHS. We have virtually no jobs for newly qualified nurses because of recruitment freezes due to endless cuts trying to save money. This can’t be forgotten about in the budget
Join us on the 27th October, the day before budget day, to demand proper funding for our NHS, schools and councils.
Burnham and Healy have just said that any payrises must come from existing NHS budgets - not acceptable!!
Huge cuts already being made!
