A frank and productive exchange of views with my counterpart on key issues like expanding the global supply of candy and toys and tightening sanctions against chores.

ECB President Christine @Lagarde, speaking at Bloomberg’s DC bureau, tells @flacqua she’s confident 2025 is the year policymakers reach their inflation target. But she said they have to remain attentive and look granularly at services inflation in particular.

“Do you know the United States spends millions of dollars a day?” my tween asked on the way home tonight, and I felt a little bit sorry about how much he was going to regret starting this conversation with me.

BIG TAB: Trump's tax-cut proposals could collectively cost more than combined budgets of every domestic federal agency. Great @elwasson @endacurran deep dive via @bpolitics bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

It’s very hard to sum up all that ⁦@paulwsj⁩ has done for Evan. He’s one of the real heroes behind the scenes. But what he’s done for the rest of us is allow us to confidently carry on with our jobs knowing that someone has our back, especially if things go wrong. Thank you

After four years covering the US Treasury, and lapping the globe a few times with a history-making secretary, I'm now shifting to a new role at Bloomberg, managing our coverage of the Federal Reserve as an editor. Luckily, we have the best team of Fed reporters in the land.

The journalistic justification for speaking to Trump is pretty clear to me, especially given signs more black voters are supporting him. That rise in support is largely tied to economics, and so I hope there are VERY substantive questions about employment, tariffs, the Fed, etc.
