I didn’t attend college on the good graces of the United Negro College Fund. I busted my ass playing on sports scholarships while maintaining a 3.8 GPA as a double major.
I didn’t obtain a job with the help of Affirmative Action or DEI.
In fact, I watched as the position I had worked hard for was given to a 22yr old, zero experience in the legal profession, associate degree holding, black female for “diversity reasons”- as I was told.
Then the ultimate slap in my face, I was asked to train her.
I refused.

The Air Force airman who fell during the pregame rappel at the Alamodome Saturday night has died.
He was with the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, the unit at JBSA-Camp Bullis that trains Tactical Air Control Party airmen. Those are the guys who go out with soldiers and Marines and call in air support from the ground.
Four of them were coming down from the rafters before UTSA played Navy at the Salute to Armed Forces & Veterans game. Per the Express-News, partway down he slid down the rope out of control and hit the field. SAFD took him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A Nellis AFB spokesperson confirmed he died.
The Air Force hasn't released his name. The incident is under investigation.
He showed up to honor the people who serve and gave his life doing it. Rest easy, Airman.
Keep his family and his unit in your prayers.
