WE ARE HIRING! If you are interested in osteocalcin, endocrinology of bone & whole organism physiology, our lab is looking for post-docs and a technician.
We welcome a wide-range of interests from bone, exercise, energy metabolism, neuroscience to biochemistry🦴🧬.
For more information please email [email protected] or any of our lab members.
Have you ever thought about to what extent gestation influence organismal homeostasis during adulthood? In our most recent publication, we addressed this question through the hormone Osteocalcin.
embopress.org/doi/full/10.10…
Using, genetics, physiological, cellular, and molecular means, we show that Osteocalcin exerts dominant functions in most organs it influences. Maternal or embryonic Osteocalcin affect glucose homeostasis, adrenal and testes steroidogenesis, and cognition in adult offspring.

Like many that look like me, my path to medicine and research was not smooth. I am forever grateful to the village that supported me, especially to my twitterless mentor Wei-li Chang and my other mentors in the Hen Lab(@Rene_Hen) and @KarsentyLab. 3/3
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the role of the skeleton in whole-body physiology 🦴
Tomorrow 5/12 at 11:30am EST
***Zoom option avalanche
Nous avons la chance de recevoir Dr. Gérard Karsenty (@KarsentyLab) de @Columbia pour une conférence spéciale ce vendredi @ircm_mtl. La conférence est ouverte à tous!

Despite being 100% virtual, this was a great, lively meeting, beyond any expectations! I really enjoyed it! 🤩
Thanks to the organisers, @MiguelCheSoares, @FlyGutLab and @KarsentyLab for making it happen!!
(lets keep it alive so that, next time, we can do this person☺️)
Nearing the end of #EESInterOrgan but not before giving the floor to ⭐🎙️ Keynote speaker, Ruslan Medzhitov, Yale School of Medicine 🇺🇸 @RMedzhitov @YaleMed
Now talking about ‘Evolutionary perspective on physiological control’
A panel discussion and closing remarks still ahead ☝️
We are so excited to have this work out. It reveals that during a window of embryogenesis the skeleton influences lifelong function of the adrenal gland. jci.org/articles/view/153752
