Back in 2024, we foresaw this type of activity being an issue. Proud to have worked with leaders like @MichaelWatsonMS and @JeremyEnglandMS who had the foresight to tackle this issue and get this law on the books.
This morning, we notified the Scott Colom for Senate campaign that Mississippi law prohibits deepfake political ads. And we are pleased to announce that they have removed the ads from their social media. Election integrity is important and this office is committed to ensuring public trust in the electoral process.
It’s time for real campaign finance reform that can hold people accountable like @MichaelWatsonMS and @JeremyEnglandMS have been pushing for years.

The first opinion is in Watson v. RNC, the mail-in ballot case. The court holds that nothing in the federal election-day statutes requires ballots to be received by Election Day in order to be counted.

Big thanks to @JeremyEnglandMS and the Senate Elections Committee for passing our much needed campaign finance reform legislation. Look forward to hearing the debate on the Senate floor. Appreciate the support and collaboration from @LynnFitchAG and her team. While there’s more work left to do, excited to see SB 2558 clear the first hurdle. Let’s get it done, #MSLeg!
Today was the qualifying deadline for U.S. House and U.S. Senate. Below are the candidates who submitted their paperwork to run. Parties have until January 10th to decide if they meet the qualifications to be on the primary ballot. @MississippiSOS

We continue to see campaign donations be an issue in Mississippi politics. When will our state get serious about campaign finance reform?

We’ve continued our push for campaign finance reform and have made some progress thanks to the #MSLeg. However, two very important pieces need to make it across the finish line. 1. EVERY elected official should file electronically on our new CFR system, from dog catcher to governor. 2. EVERY campaign account should be held in a recognized financial institution. These two pieces would have been incredibly helpful in the last two federal investigations. Let’s get it done, #MSleg.
You've long been a proponent of campaign finance reform @MichaelWatsonMS . This scandal should push #msleg to actually getting something done. @JasonWhiteMS @DelbertHosemann

According to Rule 40 and Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, the 5th Circuit Panel's opinion will not take effect until at least November 18th, meaning this will not affect the November 5th General Election.
My team and I will continue to digest the opinion and explore all available legal options.
We've got sample ballots hot off the press:
