That was fun. I've always wanted to read the UDP packets from WSJT but the documentation I found was not friendly. Sitting at the rig trying to work AG6EE in CM93 on 6m, without luck. Googled around and finally found some good info. Now, what am I going to do with the result?

I'm beginning to dislike the newer WSJT-X versions. It's virtually impossible to control the shape and size of the displays. But I just installed it on a Mac and wow -- I like it. Playing around now with my IC-705 barefoot. 15 meters + 10W + dipole @ 30' = +15 into VK3.

Never had this before. Massive JA pileup on 6m FT8. QSB took them in and out but I managed to work 22 of them -- that probably was fewer than 1/4 of the total callers. "We're gonna need a faster mode...."

One of the coolest things was listening to the audio. It was all subdued, muted...very musical. Sounded like a distant orchestra tuning up -- from the Sousaphones to the piccolos, all about the same volume.

I remember those days....
Hacker, fraudster, special agent, DXpeditioner. The amazing story of Roman Stepanenko Vega. P5RS7, 1S0RR, XY0RR, 5A0RR. Interesting video. In Russian. You need to select Russian subtitles and then enable automatic translation to English. youtu.be/7aaVUWBhZ2s?si=K8g7… via @YouTube

CY0S is all over the place. I needed it on 160 only, but couldn't resist working the other bands, Just got 'em on 160 SuperFox, somehow beating out big east coast and Texas stations. Go figure. 600W to an inverted V.

DX lesson of the day: SUNRISE ENHANCEMENT. I was not decoding 3Y0K at all on 80m 20 minutes ago. I just worked them with +00 / -02 reports. Time: 05:22:30Z. Sunrise on Bouvet is 05:24. Lesson over! 4 bands in the log so far, all new for me.

Current ABQ wx is perfect for outside work, so I’m doing some leaf raking. Looked up and discovered that my performance was being evaluated from above.

There. My mini-lawn is cleaned up. I think it passed inspection. The grass never went fully dormant this winter — it was exceptionally lush between Thanksgiving and Christmas. 70F currently; 80 on Monday & Tuesday.

Too easy. 6 or 7 calls. 600W & Sloping dipole (North) @ 40 -> 25 feet. I'll take it!

Wow... 5 calls and in the log. My trusty 5-BTV scores again. Country #300 on 40m -- that makes me an official geezer. I'm usually scared to use F/H, and many stns were not, but I did and this time it worked!

Great to be back roving. KK7OVF & WD5GRW expressed interest but didn’t show. Guess that was a busy pass. Log attached. I left a little marker at the line just for fun. TNX for the Qs.

It started with a promise to work N5KO at ZF1A on all bands. Everything was working for a change, so I just kept going for ~19 hours total. 100% S&P -- if I run DX I get called by stations I can't quite hear, so I just don't do it. That's life with low dipoles.
