We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon. We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.

As a result of a US government directive, we are suspending access to Claude Fable 5 for all users. You can continue to use all other Claude models. Here’s what this means for you: Across Claude products, new sessions will run on your selected default model or Opus 4.8, and existing Fable 5 sessions will end with an error. On the Claude Platform, requests to Fable 5 will also return an error. Please update your integrations to other Claude models. We know this is a disruption to your workflows; we appreciate your patience and support.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Boston winner Joseph Korir is getting attention because some of his runs are 9:00+ min/mile. Influencers are saying, “See! You can run slow too!” They’re not appreciating that he runs 130+ miles per week! You can’t copy the pacing of elites unless you also copy their mileage…

No record. The is a DQ. The robot bonked and got assistance from the crowd. Sorry no exceptions to the rules for Mr. Robot.
This Chinese humanoid robot just shattered the world record for a half marathon, finishing in 50 min 26 sec. This video shows its crash just meters before the finish line where it had to be picked up by a team of humans. The robot is from Honor, the smartphone maker and Huawei spin-off. This robot was teleoperated while others were autonomous. It seems like all the robots had battery swaps along the way.

What percentage of marathoners do you think would benefit from SOME walking during the race? Since walking and running marathons has been thrust into the spotlight, here are some fun facts... Jeff Galloway used a run/walk method, termed "Jeffing," to finish the Houston Marathon in 2:16:35 Galloway also shared, users of his run/walk method include several under 2:30, and many in the 2:30-40 range.

We're going to get out ahead of this because we know we'll get questions. No, we do not believe the GFS (American) model (just in), which shows 3 feet of snow for DC Sunday-Monday. It is ranked 4th for accuracy for a reason + not supported by other models which generally show a modest event. We'll post our analysis of what's most likely early afternoon today.
