The Prime Minister can’t seem to get his story straight about the “associate membership,” “unique alliance,” or whatever else he is negotiating with the EU.
Conservatives are clear: we support the decades-old free trade & NATO defence alliance with Europe.
But no EU taxes, no EU laws, and no EU open-border immigration policies should be imposed on Canadians.
Canada must be independent and sovereign. Period.

When I was a climate reporter I never covered positive climate stories because it would “muddy the narrative” that climate change was an existential threat.
No one told me to behave this way. I chose to do this of my own volition.
I think this is why we rarely see events like this year’s historically quiet eastern hurricane season covered widely by the news. Many reporters believe covering it will “give fodder to climate change deniers.”

Yes. The EU, well known for its charitable spirit, will give Canada a bespoke deal that will only have upsides for Canada and no downsides whatsoever at all.

Remember Graham Platner? Remember how he was everywhere? He was on the cover of Time magazine on the issue dated June 8. By July 8, he announced he was withdrawing from the race.
Since then, the guy has disappeared — not appearing at events he was scheduled to appear. Now, considering he’s been accused of sexual assault, that’s not exactly shocking. But it’s like the guy got abducted by aliens.
Spring and summer, Platner was the hottest thing in Democratic politics — “that’s my kind of man,” Senator Elizabeth Warren declared — and now you have better odds of catching a glimpse of Bigfoot.
