Tireless campaigning by disabled people has already stopped care charging in two London boroughs the gov must end care charging everywhere”

The government has announced a £400 “cash boost” for disabled people who rely on social care in their own homes, while failing to point out that another ministerial decision will drag thousands of them into paying higher care charges.

The first duty of every Labour Government is to support the most vulnerable.
Our welfare system is meant to be a safety net - there for all of us when we need it.
I'll fight tooth and nail for our welfare state.
Solidarity with disabled people against cuts.
Some sense at last …….
Keir Starmer is being advised to urgently pause the Government's plans to cut disability & health benefits by Parliament's work & pensions committee

Over 300 people demonstrated in Norwich against the disability cuts. Clive Lewis MP spoke and reaffirmed his intention to vote against the cuts.
Thanks to everyone who attended and to the organisers from DPAC Norfolk

Cuts to disability benefits will push 250,000 people into poverty, including 50,000 children. Let that sink in.
Disabled people already experience higher levels of poverty compared to non-disabled people. Cuts to benefits will make this worse ✂️
It’s entirely unacceptable.
What sort of real consultation is this when those affected can’t get in?
Just an update: We did eventually get in and we stopped the DWP consultation and did one for all disabled people to oppose the Green Paper.

Hear hear
If Labour decision makers think “reviewing” Winter Fuel Allowance will save them, they’re not living in same world as rest of us. Only scrapping of WFA cut & dropping completely plans to cut benefits to disabled will show that as PM claimed, “he gets it.” theguardian.com/society/2025…

Labour losing Runcorn was avoidable and as much a result of our party’s failures as Reform’s rise.
Now, we need to learn the right lessons, not double down on the same mistakes.
Cutting disability benefits and scrapping the Winter Fuel Allowance made voters abandon us. [1/3]
The message Labour should be listening to is below.Their reaction that change needs to happen faster is not what is being sent.
Sadly Reform may have sympathised on the doorstep but in reality have no intention of stopping cuts to disability benefits.
Labour must listen!
