One stat in travel keeps getting read the wrong way.
79% of millennials and Gen Z say social recommendations heavily shape how they plan trips. Social media just passed official travel sites and review platforms as the #1 source of trip inspiration.
The obvious response is more content. More creators, more reach.
We think that misses it.
Inspiration was never scarce. Travel shows have moved people for decades.
The unsolved part is carrying someone from the video to a booked trip. And proving the video did it.
That's why NextTrip caught our attention. It owns both ends. JOURNY TV creates the intent, the booking infrastructure fulfills it. Same platform.
The behavior is already there. 64% of travelers say they'd book straight from social. 53% even for expensive trips.
What we'll watch over the next few quarters: minutes viewed and actual bookings. Reach is the bigger number, and the softer one. Management drew that distinction themselves, which we took as a good sign.
