here's the argument some ai lab employees are making
- they genuinely believe what they're working on might kill everyone
- they continue to work on it because if this thing gets built it should be by responsible people like them
- the reason they do money things like selling enterprise deals and IPOing is solely to fund this effort
if this is all true then why is employee equity a thing? if you want to tell this story of being terrified of what you're building it doesn't work when there's a clear profit motive
it's particularly weird when people vest and then leave and write a tirade about how these companies are bringing the end of everything
if you want to act like this is the manhattan project, those scientists didn't have equity in something that gives them generational wealth
you don't get to say something bad is happening while profiting off it and also being seen as the good guy. one of these has to go

y'all are clever, but don't expect this to work next time 😉

🚨 BREAKING: "gpt-6-astra" has been staged on the OpenAI API
The OpenAI Responses API now returns a 404 Not Found for "gpt-6-astra", where garbage/actually non-existent slugs return 400s - a 404 is also returned for 5.6 Cyber, which we know exists.
A similar quirk exists in the Bedrock API used to find Fable 5.1 a day prior to launch.

I’m thinking about banning Claude code at Shopify until they change their mind and read AGENTS.md and .agents/skills etc.
Insisting on only reading CLAUDE.md sometimes leads to split brain problems when different team members use different tools. Just unnecessary.

We can finally talk about it:
We found a way to extract hidden reasoning of frontier models using a vulnerability in the APIs of every frontier AI company.
We verified that our reasoning token count matches billed API thinking tokens 1:1 for most of the prompts we queried.

🚨David Ondrej exposes the truth about the frontier labs.
“The progress isn’t slowing down for them, it’s slowing down for us the slaves”
“If you think Mythos or Fable 5 is the best model Anthropic has you’re delusional”
this is the first time ever that the best AI models are not publicly accessible
Anthropic has fear mongered every single human and is now playing the victim with OpenAI after getting “banned” by the U.S government.
THIS NEEDS TO WAKE YOU UP
frontier models moving forward will become more restricted, less accessible, and more expensive and the only way to combat that is with open-source models.
Investing into a DGX spark or 5090 Linux for localized intelligence and building your own AI lab is where the future is heading.
every single person needs to start contributing to open-source together for the betterment of society.

Hi. Over the last 24 hours we had three separate small incidents that affected Codex reliability. Those are three too many and we are taking active steps for them to not reproduce.
I have reset usage limits for Codex across all paid plans. May the tokens flow again.

personal update
I'm joining @OpenAI to work on Codex!
I think there are still a ton of great things to build on both mobile and desktop and there's no better team pushing that frontier than the Codex team.
I'm super humbled and excited to be working with @ajambrosino @Dimillian @pvncher and a lot of other people I can't wait to meet!
Now I just have to figure out how and where to hide the cats

We've truly been damaged by anthropic not letting u do anything that it seems unintuitive when OpenAI just lets u use their API endpoints like... API endpoints
Mad respect to the @OpenAI team for not only being normal about it but I also got a "lmk if u need help" DM!
Replying to @SIGKITTEN
Wait you can use the remote control endpoints in 3rd party apps!?!?!?
Well this changes everything.

If you made an AI bot called Fox McCluade, who would sue first? Nintendo or anthropic?

Zatanna lets AI agents use the software businesses already run on, including legacy systems, marketplaces, and portals. They turn them into APIs without needing custom integrations.
