“The thing I miss most is the people.”
I spoke to Fernando Mejia, a popular bagel shop manager on Long Island who was pulled from his car by ICE agents in June.
Mejia is now back in El Salvador after five months in detention camps. He does not have a criminal record.

If you read one story today, make it this.
@JoshNeedelman brings you into Great Neck, which has one of the largest concentrations of Iranian Jews in the country, to shed light on a question: "What's life like during the war in Iran?"

Defector's investigation casts a light on one yoga community—but almost surely not the only yoga community— that, all these years following #MeToo, still struggles with a basic question: What do you do when your guru is named as an abuser? defector.com/what-the-guru-l…

Still the wackest display I’ve seen from a star player ever:
SNY sources: Knicks center Mitchell Robinson will not be ready for the start of the regular season. Depending on rehab process, December/January is a target for Robinson’s return, per sources. Robinson is recovering from offseason ankle surgery. Knicks and Robinson do not want to rush the rehab process and both want Robinson 100% healthy before his return. NYK internally is confident in the depth and versatility of the team to compete while Robinson is out, per league sources. More: sny.tv/articles/knicks-mailb…
