Don’t stop talking about the mass slaughter of Christians by Islamists in Nigeria.

Christopher Hitchens: ”In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli, shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million European and American slaves taken between 1750 and 1815.
Jefferson and Adams went to their ambassador in London and said, why do you do this to us? The United States has never had a quarrel with the Muslim world of any kind. We weren't in the crusades. We weren't at war with Spain. Why do you do this to our people and our ships? Why do you plunder and enslave our people? The ambassador said very plainly, Mr. Abdul Rahman said, because the Quran gives us permission to do so, because you are infidels, and that's our answer. Jefferson said, well, in that case, I will send a navy which will crush your state, which he did.
Islamic fundamentalism is not created by American democracy. It's a lie to say so. It's a masochistic lie, and it excuses those who are the real criminals, and blames us for the attacks made upon us.”

“I am a Jewish woman being called antisemitic. I don’t think you would sit here & lecture somebody of any other religion or race on what counted as bigotry or racism towards them in the way you have explicitly called me antisemitic..I don’t think you would do that

It is quite mad that the wife of our National Security Advisor is an antisemitic crank, isn’t it?
Jonathan Powell's wife shared a post this weekend that is dismissive of @andyburnham's government - referring to it as 'the zionist labour government' and accusing them of 'colluding with Israeli war criminal intelligence services'

This protestor claims that the real reason for the protests in France is that they are against "Zionist control" of France.
Ah yes. Zionist control. This is why France recognised a Palestinian state last year 🤪🤪🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️
Marching orders:
“It’s all because of the Zionists. This is what happens when the Zionist entity runs France. They blame Muslims, and Algerians in particular, for everything. We need to vote. I hereby call on all French citizens of foreign origin, especially the French-Algerian community. We are 6 million people. We are the majority. […] We stand with LFI [the far-left party]. They have solutions.”

I personally can’t see the problem in inviting a British Jew - one no longer bound by the BBC’s impartiality rules - on to articulate a pretty mainstream British Jewish point of view.
Be grateful if “the problem” could be spelled out.

You really do have to have social media brain rot to come up with concept of “belleépoqueslop” which can be sacrificed to nihilist arsonist kids with the most fake Gallic shrug imaginable. I imagine sara with the affected small s would crap her pants if the fire children came for something she held dear.

Defending communism today isn't edgy or rebellious… it is an embarrassing display of historical illiteracy.
You aren't fighting the establishment; you are cheerleading for the most destructive monopoly state apparatus ever conceived.

It's ok to be upset about buildings being burnt to the ground by a rampaging mob, actually.
to anyone breathless over burning belleépoqueslop: 1883 isn’t ancient history and if you want to get upset about the condition of building take a look at some of the schools
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
During the protests over school conditions, French education officials reported that 24 high schools had been burned or ransacked.

A woman being torched in the face, a female police officer assaulted while being called a ‘whore’, a new mother threatened with rape.
Violent misogyny has been a distinct feature of these riots while so-called ‘feminists’ predictably look the other way.

Stomach-turning scene in Paris! A mother threatened with rape by looters while at home with 3-month old baby last night because she pleaded for them not to destroy small telephone shop of her neighbour, told by sadistic Trotskyists: that's "collateral damage" of the revolution!

Yes it's a real problem having a Jew expressing a mainstream Jewish opinion about which she kept entirely silent during her BBC career.
Or let me rephrase that. It's a real problem if you have a problem with Jews.

At a loss for words at this point.
We live in a country where we have Politicians celebrating and calling for the release of Marwan Barghouti - a convicted Palestinian terrorist who was also responsible for suicide bombings.
And now we have ACTUAL RELEASED terrorists like this 👇🏽 living in the country just going about their day.
This is absolutely INSANE! Meet Mohammed Yaseen. He was a member of an Al Qaeda group that beheaded Brit Ken Bigley.
He then joined ISIS where he worked as a guard at two mass killings and a deadly public stoning. He was arrested in Germany and served nearly 5 years in prison for being a member of Isis.
After he was released, Germany didn't deport him, so he broke into our country on a small boat because he heard we 'accept everyone'.
He was jailed for 2 years for illegal entry, then released early after 6 months. This is despite hearing in court that he 'posed a danger to the whole of the UK' and he had a 'deep and lengthy involvement in terrorism and Islamic extremist ideology'.
He's eligible for deportation, but the Foreign Office raised concerns that if we deport him to Iraq he could face 'mistreatment' for being a terrorist.
He has reapplied to stay in the UK, which halts any deportation proceedings and it will cost taxpayers' £85,000 a year to keep him here.
It get's worse... if and when he uses the ECHR to fight his case, we are potentially on the hook for another *£500,000* in legal aid.
He's been put in a bail hostel in Windsor and able to walk the streets.
WHAT TF ARE WE DOING TO OURSELVES?!
This country is utterly broken.

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

It is not, in fact, a good rule of history
A good rule of history: if you find yourself opposing a student movement while siding with the ruling class, you're wrong. Every time, in every era, whatever the issue.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Student movements have not always been on the right side of history. Mao's student Red Guards persecuted hundreds of thousands. Students helped Castro and Khomeini rise to power, and Nazi student groups opposed the Weimar Republic.
