Because of AI's ability to deeply know you, I think the implication of AI on social networks won't be AI generated content.
I think it will be humanizing every person, and therefore interaction, on the internet.
Sora, Wabi, Pocket...so many products wanted to be the platform for the next generation creator.
Looks like Steam will own em'

Hood Warfare, a new multiplayer first-person shooter set in Chicago where rival gangs fight for control of different neighborhoods is going viral. It combines Call of Duty-style multiplayer with gang warfare & exaggerated street humor
On Steam for $5.
Meta:
" hey you two - our metrics are about to be royally fucked cuz we're being forced to support teens. can you do it too so we can even the playing field "
Social has felt like a space that is impossible to build from first principles.
But the more I work in it, the more patterns I see and the more fundamental truths I identify in it.
Secret fundamental truths + Claude code = happy Jon
When the cinematograph was first invented, early films tried to replicate the experience of watching a play and people hated them. They were just worse plays. Slop.
Then filmmakers discovered the unique strengths of film that allowed them to tell stories in entirely new ways: cuts, special effects, and perspective shifts. Movies could do things plays couldn’t.
We are in the slop phase of AI, just like film, where creators are learning this new medium by replicating old ones. History is simply repeating itself and new ways to create will emerge from this technology. Enjoy the ride and get excited for what’s to come.
quick product note on this: the growth mechanic on it is good but there isn’t really a loop here because the product isn’t retentive for new users.
Growth comes from a status game: every designer on it wants to share their feature to their followers because its a subtle flex.

p.s. who is missing that I should add??
this was the only correct placement of this sticker on my camping cooler.
only the greatest designers to ever do it will know why
I just found a new playlist type on Spotify - one that's specifically for running. You tell it how long, style of run, and running cadence and it'll generate a dynamic playlist as a result.
the playlist is a glorified prompt for AI but it's very neat to see them move out of the conversational UI and have bespoke UI for the various running elements.
if you're really tryna lock in, just fully intubate yourself with a microphone.
you won't even need to speak anymore and can vibe code quicker via guttural noises
One Safari update announced yesterday was automatically fixing your passwords.
Behind the scenes it’s spinning up a headless browser to log into the website and change the bad password for you.
No one knows it’s an agent. It’s just magic. This is how you productize AI.
sad to see Siri's playful visual design go, but seemed necessary to move into a more refined and restrained space to visually communicate the upgrade
we need a @spottedinprod for delightful moments for nontraditional UI, like this here conversational UI
PSA to all you builders developing products via iMessage. It is brittle at scale!
Even Poke realized this and made the switch from iMessage via Linq to a business account.
did you listen to this and think, "wow this sounds beautiful"?
it's because the sound designer used major 7 and minor 9 chords on the piano. Both give a feeling of airy lightness and curiosity unlike any other chords in western music
