Weak men exploit power to enrich themselves. Trump’s government is deeply corrupted and debilitated #MAGA
June 18: 🇺🇸Trump buys up to $500K in Boeing stock. Same day Boeing gets $880M US Navy contract. June 24: 🇺🇸Trump buys up to $250K in Palantir stock. Same day Palantir gets $45.8M government contract. In any functioning democracy, this would be called massive corruption and he would have faced at least 2 years in jail.

When someone attacks those that believe moral values that are rooted in universal norms outside the self, you tend to find critics that prove your point in the most ironic sense.
It's the basis of your whole thought process...of course you don't recognize it.

Ossoff: Now maybe you saw Trump's so desperate he's begging Putin for diesel. But listen to this, at the very same time, the White House is brokering the sale of billions in Russian energy assets to people who fund the Trump family and the Trump campaign. We're talking oil fields, refineries, gas stations all over the world to be sold to the first family's cronies in a deal brokered and backed by the U.S. government… Amidst a global energy crisis, the president's son-in-law and the president's business partner are brokering the sale of Russian oil fields to the first family's friends. The same friends who have poured hundreds of millions of dollars into Trump family businesses. And then there's Marco Rubio committing $1.6 billion of your money to back the Trump boys' mining interests in Kazakhstan. Did you hear about that? Pete Hegseth steering hundreds of millions of Pentagon dollars to back Don Jr.'s magnet investment. Venezuelan oil money turning up in Qatari bank accounts. Because, see, they are literally the elites they pretend to hate. And here's the bottom line: If you're involved in any of this, next year you'll be raising your right hand and swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God, in front of the United States Congress.

Quite possibly the single worst attempt to blame, avoid, and beg by a vice president in my lifetime. Great job, @JDVance
🥴 JD struggles through surprisingly contentious CBS town hall 🥴 Vance faced a number of tough questions from audience members and from Tony Dokoupil during exchanges like this: JD VANCE: The biggest reason why gas prices are so high is because when Joe Biden ... DOKOUPIL: It's almost been two years. At a certain point it becomes your economy, not Biden's economy Here's a supercut of Vance having a hard time explaining the sluggish economy, Trump's corruption, why the US hasn't already won the Iran war, and more:

Bring back a system focused on creating greatness.
Letting everyone vote was a deadly mistake… Many of the Founding Fathers warned against mass democracy. The uninformed masses and hordes of migrants simply vote for more benefits from the state. Several Western nations are now headed toward fiscal collapse, led by France.

Corruption that is simply breathtaking
NEW: Trump's DHS used a no-bid loophole for almost 2/3 of its contract funds this year. In 2024, it was less than 1%.

These fucking morons have no concept of what Trump’s policies actually are much less what the effects have been. The ignorance among the MAGA right is profound. It’s become a slavish ideology.

Another way the current administration is trapped in the ZERO-SUM FALLACY: The H-1B visa situation. + You are NOT taking a job from a citizen, rather creating jobs by increasing overal economic output. Plus these people (even vegetarians) SPEND locally. + The US has long been benefiting from other countries' brain drain; without it its edge wd collapse. Tesla, Von Braun, von Neumann, Fermi & Einstein did NOT each take the job of a citizen. + It the problem is anti-Indian racism, say it, don't play games.

If only we could have done communism better…
The 2018 tariffs became Swiss cheese in about a year and didn’t offer enough protection to spur investment. For the same reason, the price increase was extremely short lived. They don’t come close to testing the phenomenon I’m describing
24
This is not a typical economic reality. Not only has evidence shown that tariffs induce persistently higher output costs but destroy the incentive to attract domestic competition! The tariff zealots are as bad as the Marxists. nber.org/papers/w33100
Because if you make it possible to profit from domestic production, the sector becomes investable, which crowds in new firms which increases supply which brings down the price. Not only is it a “serious” argument, it’s repeatedly been vindicated by reality

Biggest side effect of #MAGA anti-immigration worldview is that, unless the native demographics change (we have more children), the fiscal integrity will be deeply threatened. Reproduction is essential -despite what people may think (including myself) of @elonmusk, he is right about this.

Reminds me of @PhilWMagness warning @oren_cass that tariffs were already unpopular. Well… they are about to be a lot less so.
A new survey from @InnovateEconomy and @EchelonInsights finds that the Trump administration’s tariff agenda has become significantly more unpopular over the past year, fueled by a collapse of support among blue collar workers.

The Trump effect
While CPI inflation up to 3.7%, inflation is much higher in many crucial categories: 1. Fuel Oil Inflation: +74.2% 2. Gasoline Inflation: +34.2% 3. Airline Fares Inflation: +22.4% 4. Car Repair Inflation: +5.8% 5. Hospital Services Inflation: +5.6% 6. Utility Gas Inflation: +5.0% 7. Electricity Inflation: +4.4% 8. Fruits and Vegetables Inflation: +3.7% This marks the 67th-straight month with US CPI inflation above the Fed's 2% target. After 5+ years of persistent inflation, the top 1% of US households are now worth ~14 TIMES the bottom 50%. Affordability is still getting worse.

So much for #MAGA and @realDonaldTrump.
Real wages are falling, and have been falling for months.
5
Over time, no. No it does not.
Watch Wall St want more rate hikes, when rate hikes are the main contributor to inflation. Excluding Shelter. Core CPI 0.1% How long until Wall St and MSM actually look at the data?
3
Of course.
Trump’s tariffs raised prices on more than imports. New York Fed researchers found they also pushed up the cost of American-made goods. Full story here foxnews.com/politics/america…

Some folks are missing @PeterSchiff’s point: ALL government spending is paid for by citizens, through taxes, inflation, interest, AND debt (deferred tax). The Big Beautiful Bill increased spending by $100’s of billions over the next few years, so it increased what YOU MUST PAY.
I’m tired of hearing Republicans who voted for the Big Beautiful Bill take credit for cutting taxes. They did not. That bill made the federal government bigger and more expensive than ever. The public will bear that burden, which will more than offset those fake tax cuts.

Imagine arguing for a counterfactual based on a rounding error with no consideration of the variance. Now imagine showing this chart as a function of being able to service the debt. The right has become financially incompetent because their ideas cannot fail.
Deeply misleading. National debt is running around $3 trillion lower than it would have been if Biden's debt path had continued.

I know that at a certain point it makes me sound naive, but I think we should be clear that a president announcing a ceasefire signed by two warring countries that doesn't actually exist is and should be the sort of thing that gets him swiftly removed from office.

It takes a delusional narcissist to sincerely believe that they have the ability to just declare and things will be. Or… he is a grifter desperately buying time.
Reporter: You said Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire but both sides say they have not. Trump: They agree. You know why? Because I said you agree. That’s why. They agreed because I said they agreed.
