π―meaning educ is a complex interactive process rather than merely transactional. This is important when thinking abt using genAI in educ. Those who think AI will replace teachers see educ as transactional, thinking of AI as an affordance means seeing educ as interactional.

"Learning should be seen as a qualitative change in a person's way of seeing, experiencing, understanding, conceptualizing something in the real world - rather than as a quantitative change in the amount of knowledge someone possesses."

Though I am attending asynchronously and virtually, I am loving seeing all the great #AMEE2024 content!
Parth Agrawal, @mjhorstman, and @iattending and I have a Short Communication on Demand that you can catch online.
Proud to represent @BCM_InternalMed @BCMDeptMedicine at AMEE
This is my personal top five attending breakfasts to bring to the team on the weekend:
5. Donuts
4. Baked goods (scones, cookies)
3. Bagels and cream cheese
2. Kolaches (sometimes number 1 depending on the mix of sweet and savory)
1. Breakfast tacos

Years ago during chief year, @orhueodaro and I organized a weekly Trivia game with prizes for @BCM_InternalMed. We hoped it would be a joyful way to connect people across four hospitals and busy rotations--a shared activity for belonging and engagement.

Taking on hard projects and having both excitement and anxieties about being outside your comfort zone is wild. Specifically the phenomenon where when you actually rip off the band-aid and actually do a bite sized, accomplishable task and are like, why didn't I do this earlier??
