Important words from @JonBroadbery of @NDNAtalk - sustainable funding for providers will be key to delivering a childcare system that can provide support and be accessed by families in every corner of the country.
Listen to NDNA’s Director of Policy @JonBroadbery @BBCNorfolk this morning from 1hr 40mins: bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0jfvw…
Great Yarmouth is one of the worst areas in England for accessing childcare.
“Funding doesn’t cover the cost of delivering places, these hours are not free for providers or parents.”
In some parts of Norfolk there are 5 or 6 children per available place.

Our Capital Grant Funding investigation is featured on @NurseryWorld.
The figures on the use of this fund are shocking. The National Audit Office found that we need to create 85,000 new places by September 2025 but only a tiny fraction of funding earmarked to support this has been allocated and distributed. 👇

As secretary of state for education @bphillipsonMP has said early years is about more than childcare & is at the heart of giving children the best start in life. Our CEO has been meeting her & the new ministers at @educationgovuk this evening including @StephenMorganMP
I get into all sorts of trouble if I use the F-word when talking about early education and childcare! @NDNAtalk
We're excited to share that we are featured alongside 26 of the sector’s voices in the latest ‘The ABC of Nursery Management’ guide from @Connect_group.

Getting my feet under the table at @educationgovuk - the department for opportunity.
From here, we’ll work to give every child the best start in life, drive high and rising standards and ensure that background is no barrier to getting on in life.
A pleasure to speak at @SWBG event on the importance of investing in early education & care. Some important economic & gender budgeting arguments from @scherieOECD a case study from Vienna but also important to reflect on long-term outcomes @NdnaScotland
Replying to @SWBG @NdnaScotland
Jonathan sets out how investment in early years is a core component of addressing child poverty with links between high quality childcare leading to improved outcomes across children’s lives
