Depth-aware light injection in TypeGPU
I got a 448x448 monocular depth model down to ~8 ms on my M4 Pro across ~250 dispatches, which is fast enough to use in realtime :D
Since the inference is written directly in TypeGPU, I can just feed the depth buffer straight into the lighting pass. It never has to leave the GPU or go through any extra synchronization/interop step
Inference, lighting and draw all go through the same command encoder.

One of my favorite artifacts from designing Wakandan tech for Black Panther.
I loved this layout & color scheme, so I made a cyan alternate just so I could say "this is what any other movie would do".
Sometimes 'proof-of-non-concept' is very persuasive tool.

Iron Man 2 was the very first film I worked on.
It started as a request for a single animated loop and ended with over 100 vfx shots(!).
A pivotal moment for myself and my former colleagues at Perception— here's how we pulled it off:

Replying to @JohnnyMotion
Yes indeed.
One of the best examples is a Fresnel lens in many old light houses.
Thanks for an interesting introduction into optics.
Our augmented reality glasses have tiny mirrors that do similar things inside structures called Waveguides.
I know many who are building them were influenced by seeing a lens like this as a child and getting interested in studying how light refracts and reflects.

BlackBox x Rive.
More soon.
The Rive team partnered with @BLKBXINF to explore how we can improve the design of everyday objects through better Human Machine Interfaces. HMI created with Rive is production-ready, which means it's ready to run on final hardware but also easy to integrate with 3D prototypes in Unreal Engine and Unity.

First off, where the hell has everybody been!
I've only seen the greater design community interested in automotive HMI (Human Machine Interface) in the last two years/post-tech layoffs.
